Awesome. I got an inexpensive boat to get the kids out on water and since we snowskate in the winter, had to try strapless in summer as well. I tried wakeskating for the first time yesterday and was stoked to get right up on it, but it was slick trying to carve. I figured I need bigger skegs, but enjoyed this video and can see I probably just need to get my rear foot back and use the tail. My skate was cheap $100 one from Overton, so I thought I might need a different one next summer, but after seeing this, I’ll definitely practice technique for a while. I have very little desire to do shovits and tricks, but my 15 year old probably will. Thanks for the inspiration.

So sweet, I have a Leaf wakeskate myself too. Hoping I get to see him shred this September at the PWL stop in Valdosta and maybe you too Shaun! As always, great content man.

I'm wakeskating for 3 years and I'm still trying to master ollies ;) Jake rides like a pro, and he lands those tricks with such a consistency and ease. This year I got myself a small boat and started my wakeboarding adventure. Unfortunately I broke my brand-new bindings after just few rides so it's back to wakeskating I guess. By the way, from my personal experience falls hurt way more on wakeboard than wakeskate ;) Shaun, big thanks for all of your great tutorials and sharing positive energy.

There is so much you can do with a boat, skiing and watersports wise. I 3 event ski, Slalom, trick, and jump. Jump is definetly my favorite, I mean just flying through the around around 130ft just feels insane. Great video!

Love this ! This guy is my new wakeskate hero. I have a 95 sport nautique and all I do is wakeskate. Crazy you mention how you blew your knee out on a skate and won’t do it anymore. I blew mine out on a board and won’t do it anymore. Love the video ! This guy is sick with it !

You could say that, but it's called wakeboarding at that point.

How did you hurt yourself in a Wakeskates? What should I avoid to hurt myself?
@Shaun.Murray Жыл бұрын
Wake to wake jump. Landed front foot on and back foot off. Did the splits so fast that rather than stretching my groin, it dislocated my lower leg sideways like when football player gets hit from the side. To avoid that, I don't wakeskate any more 😂
@rick99432 жыл бұрын
I thought the wakeskate would be safer since your feet arent strapped in and are free to move as needed? That's a rough injury.

Hey Shaun love what you do, but I hope you have a release on that line with your arm through the handle. Had a friend fall doing the same thing and caused an internal degloving injury. Not fun! Stay safe!
@Shaun.Murray2 жыл бұрын
For sure agree with you and tell my students the same thing. I'm very cautious when doing that bc I've put my arm through and it never goes well
