They over spent. As Chief jay Strong Bow said to Hill Billy Jim at the start of his carrier was it's not what you earn it's what you save. But when your on top you think it's never gonna end like with Ric Flair and others and you over live your pay checks but Ric went through a few divorces as well that killed him. Now some of the wrestlers quit early and go into the movies. Because of injury or don't want more injuries or a major injury and spend all there $$ on surgeries or numbing them selves or just plain get out while there still good and go into the movies make a hell of a lot more $$ anyway why be in pain the rest of your life it's not worth it.

You have to remember, the guys were not making the big money back in the day, even bookers. It was all about asses in seats.
