Mark my words, unless Vancouver trades up, Virtanen is their guy. The kid has all the elite skills to be a big time player in this league. Strong, super fast, wicked powerful and accurate shot, can hit, etc. Plus, he's local and a late birthday which is always an added plus. The nocks on his game are pretty much, use his line mates more, and things of that nature, which can easily be fixed with coaching. Seems like a done deal to me.

The way Virtanen is lighting up the U-18 tourney and being a fairly late birthday BC kid I can`t see him getting past Vancouver in the draft. Too bad cause I would love the Leafs to draft Jake. The idea of a line with Virtanen- Horvat - Shinkaruk down the line for Van is just so damn appealing

The Hitmen's website had Virtanen listed at 6'3" for a while but they seem to have changed it to 6'1" (like other player profiles have him). Not gonna lie, I'm a little disappointed... but he does still have size at 6'1" 209 lbs! Barring a trade up, I'd like to see Vancouver select him.

As a leafs fan I want either Virtanen or Ehlers. I'm having a really hard time figuring out who I like more. Love all the toughness that Virtanen has but Ehlers could very well turn into the best player out of this draft with the amount of speed and skill. Too many question marks in Nylander and Ritchie's game

his shot is good his agressivness is good his skating is good. But what about his hockey IQ and passing. I dont like players that cant make plays who only just shot like mason raymond. Unless hes gonna be a bottom 6 player then he can shot as much as he wants.

Virtanin is the flashy goal scorer in my mind, but Nick Ritchie is that gritty, power forward tht can compete in any aspect of the game. We already have Kessel with his beauty shot, but we lack some one with the drive that can score big goals or get big hits or can get the team pumped with a fight. I would take Nick Ritchie, Virtanen I could see get picked up by Anaheim at 10th.
