Traxxas X-Maxx & Slash, Mud Bash!

Warning there is a lot of dirt in this video, viewer discretion is advised. Things are about to go down! The Velineon 3500KV Motor Seizes! OH NO!!! Today it's time for a serious dose of mud bashing at our local country park with the X-MAXX and Slash 4x4.
The park is a mixture of surfaces and shots, including a lot of water! If you haven't used either a Slash or X-MAXX before I'd highly recommend one!

Both can take some serious abuse and with this video you can see that, you need them in your life.
The Slash is the OBA & TSM Fox Edition which is running on 3s lipo, 13t. This gives roughly 45MPH on 3s!
The X-MAXX is running 22t/50t and reached 49MPH on 6s lipo.
How to fit the high speed pinion gear: • Traxxas Slash Optional...
In this video we are running on 3s 4000MAH LIPO giving approximately 20 minutes of runtime each pack.
We are using both the LCG and the HCG chassic versions, LCG has OBA and TSM, the HCG does not. We're running the standard speed pinion as well.

If you'd said something like "better driving will prevent breakages" I would have agreed. If this bothers you, there are PLENTY of chilled hobbies you can take up

You can't help but turn into a kid while driving these things, I got a 2wd Traxxas Stampede to start out with for me and my son to play with...and since the first time we took it out of the box I STILL warp back to when I was 10 while driving it. Great hobby to pick up for sure, we have an absolute BLAST driving it around!

I just finished my slash drive train rebuild. I had thought it was running okay, but as I took it apart I noticed half the bearings were worn out or outright seized. Took about 12 hours and a little under $100 in parts (And upgrades), but every single bearing has been replaced and now it runs absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend a yearly rebuild. You can do it in a quarter of the time and half the money if you aren't as meticulous in cleaning and don't want to do any upgrades. Completely worth it for being able to run in wet conditions imho.

The X Maxx is an absolute beast. It is one of those things just like the 1/5 scale gas RCs, you have to see one in person and if you do, they are way bigger than you thought they were and video doesn't do their size justice. 🙂 Awesome video too!

It’s all about the tires, if you use sandpaddels on the Slash it goes though this like butter ! The standard tires that come with the Slash are trash, maybe good for onroad but for everything else... Also you should raise the Slash‘s Suspension!

Xbox and PlayStation controllers use IR not radio waves, so they can't be used to control a car, unless you can retro fit a radio transmitter somehow.

Anakin Skywalker about 45 min to an hour and yes it’s a very good starter and has lots of modification options. It’s also super tough.
