@teachthechildren2 Жыл бұрын
@@Hatrimn Her reaction to him stemmed from their history earlier in the series. She even mentioned earlier in the episode that she thought D’Wayne was jealous because she liked Garth now and not him. Freddie had a crush on D’Wayne when she first got to Hillman. But D’Wayne didn’t take her reaction personally because he knew Freddie was naive and she just wanted Garth to like her because she’d never had that type of attention from a guy before. The most important thing is that Freddie’s life wasn’t ruined by Garth raping her. He could’ve damaged her insides to the point where she couldn’t have children. He could’ve given her an STD. She could’ve gotten pregnant. She would’ve had to deal with PTSD and depression… She didn’t treat D’Wayne like crap…She was in denial and she didn’t want to face the reality because she didn’t want to feel hurt. D’Wayne was a good enough person and friend to understand that her reaction wasn’t to be taken personally. She was naive and in serious danger.

M. Allen, a friend and I went cruising around our town after work, just driving and talking and cuttin up (joking around). seems innocent right? i told him i wanted to go home because i had work the next day and that we could hang another time. He drives in the direction of my house but stops at a parking lot by a small private beach for residents. I don’t know what’s going on at this point because why did we stop here when my house was another 10 minutes away? I hear the door lock button and he pulls out 2 joints. I tell him I don’t mind partaking, but asked if we could keep driving because it was getting late. He doesn’t listen to me, just keeps passing me the j to smoke. I declined to continue after like 4 hits (didn’t wanna smell like bud when i go back home and upset my dad.). I tried to come up with excuse upon excuse to leave, telling him i had a bus pass and that i can take myself home, telling him i was on my period, anything to just go home and be in my bed. he did not take that well. he started calling me a tease, telling me why was i hanging out with him if i wasn’t gonna hook up with him. he was raising his voice, telling me i dress for attention (sweatpants and a hoodie was asking for it? okay.) i told him quietly that i just wanted to go home. he had this dark look in his eyes and told me to get in the backseat, but i had to climb to the back seat because he wasn’t gonna unlock the doors. as i did that, he grabbed my ass and pushed me into the seat. at this point i’m shaking because he started touching me everywhere with his dirty ass hands and i kept saying no, but i couldn’t scream. he was over here telling me i owed him my body, called us soulmates. He got on top of me and held me down til he realized i started crying and got himself out of me. i didn’t tell anyone and I didn’t want to. I thought I was dirty, worthless; I felt so cheap. I thought it was my fault that i got myself into that situation. i felt like i wasn’t me anymore. i saw him again at a festival in my town and before he could see me, i bolted. i’m sorry this was really long with bad sentence structure but i’ve just woken up and seen your comment and wanted to respond. only person in my family that knows is my brother. my parents would shame me for even being outside so i just couldn’t bring myself to tell them. super long, but yeah. short version: i was body shamed and r*ped by a “friend”. i regret everything and feel like i’m worth nothing.

I look at it now and it makes a lot of sense. When we as females think of rapist we think of creepy men in a van but in reality and definitely in college it could that gorgeous athlete that always gets his way. When a woman says NO it’s NO. We need more shows like this now

Creepy men in a Van, get real. They can also be handsome guys in a Mercury Sable (for example, this episode).

@@ajanderson2787 I believe I did say that it’s not just creepy men in a van. Please read my full post

It wasn’t Lisa Bonet’s fault that the writing and production of the first season was dry. She did not write or produce and of the episodes. We don’t know what exactly went on behind the scenes. In fact Debbie Allen wanted Lisa to stay on ADW during her pregnancy. However Bill Cosby said she may be pregnant but not Denise Huxtable. In fact who’s to say the outcome of the show if she stayed on? And there is a real life Denise Huxtable. And her name is Erinn Cosby (Bill Cosby’s real-life daughter). She went to Spelman College for two years before dropping out. So these characters on ADW really exist! Here’s the link on Erinn Cosby: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKrbhZ1srpx-qMU

Unfortunately this was my experience. I was sexually assaulted in college by a guy friend and after he assaulted me he blackmailed me out of money by threatening me and my family. I called the police but he left before they got there and they didn’t believe me and said boys will be boys and asked if I’m sure if it’s not just a sex thing we do.
