Jake, look into trucking. I was in a very similar situation to you at the beginning of 2024. I used to work at HEB in Texas, then worked for Costco in Texas. Retail crushed my soul. Got into trucking back in April and got rid of my apartment lease and my extra bills. I live in the company truck for free now. I have shelter, AC, heater, fridge, and a microwave. My dog travels with me. I average $1600/week after tax. I’ve been paying off debt for the first time in years. I’ve seen the most beautiful sunrises/sunsets, the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, every mountain range in America, etc… Most companies will allow you to request vacation time anywhere in the U.S. I don’t pay for gas or anything else. It’s the happiest and the most free I’ve ever been. Also the most money I’ve ever made. The state of Texas paid for my CDL school since I have an autoimmune disease. You can likely get the state to cover cdl school for you as well if you have any type of disability (ADHD, autoimmune, etc…). Trucking school is only 5 weeks. I love my life now. I listen to music and podcasts all day, and I get paid to see the country. It doesn’t get any better.

I loved working at the grocery store. I worked 16 hours a week. Shifts were only 4 hours long. I got to be physically active, gently moving throughout the store. I had mini transactions with the customers and co-workers, rarely ticked off by their behavior. Sadly, I can;t do it anymore due to foot pain. That little job was great for my mental health.

Long time watcher but not a subscriber. My wife and I were actually looking up your videos 2 days ago and I wondered what happened to you. Your last video was posted 3 months ago so I was just curious and here you are now sharing your story. Keep keeping on brother. Try to grow that relationship with Christ and ask Him what is your purpose on this planet. As others have commented maybe try a different scenery like moving overseas and you can continue to do these same type of videos they will enrich the lives of others that are living the same. Keep the faith! It came to me a few minutes after I posted this but I think you're calling is yes to go overseas and preach the gospel but also share with others globally about your depression because not enough people in their own countries speak of it and it's even shamed upon or it's unheard of but you can have your own ministry and God will give you the resources to do it. Have faith, Jake!

Jake, good to hear from you. Don't beat urself up about not posting certain videos. You're on your journey, No one else's. Having God in your life and being sober are true blessings. Those two things matter most. I too lost two of my closest friends over the last 2 years. It's affected my life tremendously. It's God that's helping me get through it. And man it is tough. Things are working out fine though. Unfortunately I had to move from Dallas back home for a while because it affected my business and income. Again though, God is getting me through it and things are starting to turn around. So, let the big man upstairs guide your life and don't worry so much about KZbin viewers. I'm glad to see you are doing well and trying new things. Follow your heart. God bless. 🤘

I came to the same place with van life. Started the van life channel 2016. Everyone grew up around me, but I was stunted for various reasons. It caused me so much pain to be "rejected", but I kept going for 7 years or so. I've tried to change my channel 4 times now since then. I like to talk about things in society and culture now. I happened to vote for Trump and lost massive subs because of it. KZbin is shadow banning my channel too. I have no idea what I'm doing now, but I can't go back to van life because like you said, it's every day life for me and there are plenty of other channels. Good luck to both of us finding out way!

Jake you don't know me but you inspired me to not only live out of my car but you inspired me to fight and stay sober (alcoholic) You also inspired me to create my own KZbin channel and I'm pushing 50k subs and doing well now. I relate to you on so many levels and I want to thank you for that. I pray for you and wish for you nothing but the best. We are all out here finding our why and our purpose and I have yet to find mine. I work hard and I practice mindfulness and I am ok with that. Stay well man!

Hey Jake. Nice to see you back. Just "doing you" is also ok along with the things that interest you. Ultimately there are people that will share the things you are interested in. Life purpose is really important. You are right, at the end of it all we need money to do the things we want to do. Perhaps make that a purpose. Find out what you want to do next and work to earn the starting money you need to make that happen. Goals are purpose !! Set some small goals to start you purpose path in life. You can have many different purposes as time goes by. Over the last five years I have changed my diet radically and part of that is improved health, both physical and Mental wellness. Watch some you-tube on ketogenic eating and mental wellness. You would be really surprised on how that can actually make a difference as opposed to medication. Keep making videos Jake and we will watch. This is an interaction between you and us. Take Care. Kevin in Edmonton.

But when I talk about things that matter people aren't interested. My viewers told me they liked my van Life channel because they could live through me. Like I was their fantasy Life. I didn't really like that either, though I was grateful for everyone watching. But yeah that's one reason I stopped doing a van Life channel.

I'm a 70 yo retired disabled lady veteran, and SF/California scare me a bit. As I'm listening to your video here, I bet you would love the devotional flashdrives I make to pass out to ppl, to listen to in their cars. Do you have a USB port in your car's audio system? If you have a USP or PO box I can send you one. I never charge ppl for them -- I consider it my ministry to share the words of Jesus with ppl. My flash drives have 29 albums and more than 300 tracks.
