Just bought the same 4 pack myself. The killer app for me was using it to turn on an electric blanket 2 hours before I head to bed then turn it off 30 minutes after saying goodnight to Alexa (sad). Also handy to turn your PC on. Set your ACPI response in BIOS to "Turn On," and when the plug switches on, the PC boots :)

Man-0-man these would have come in handy when I drove trucks for 30 years. I'd start at odd times during the night and come home at odd hours. If they knew I was arriving, a member of my family would always leave outside lights on for me. This would have saved money by not having lights burning all night when I would get home at say, 2:30 AM. I could have just got on my phone and turned on the lights as I arrived home. When leaving, I would always leave in the dark, meaning I never left a light on to guide me to my car. Again, this would have come in handy. I could have seen the bear that was munching on my grass, rather than just hear it. For one summer it was there day after day. It didn't even seem to care when I started my car and shined the headlights in its eyes. I wish I was born later to take advantage of all the exciting new things! I guess I'm being selfish, getting the Internet in my lifetime should be enough. Great review good Doctor!

I've been impressed with my TP-link WiFi extender that I set up a few months ago. They make some quality products.

why would use it for lights if you can use smart lightbulbs?
@Helen-sound2 жыл бұрын
I bought the light bulbs for my dad so he could just vocally switch off the ‘big’ light as he went to bed . I also had the Tapo plugs for the table lamps . He loved it . What with his Alexa playing his favourite songs with lyrics on the screen he made good use of being on my amazon prime account with access to any piece of music and his fire stick for his extra choice of tv programmes . At 86 he was more into the smart thing than I was .

I mainly use Samsung Smartthings and Ikea plugs that run over Zigbee, but I bought a Tapo power monitoring plug a few months ago and have a couple of Tapo cameras. The power monitoring plug has helped me identify a number of wasteful devices around the house. I find the range really good value with a great app. Ive even gifted a few of the cameras to family starting their first homes . I'd recommend these to anyone starting their smart home journey.

What’s the range from tapo to router…
@paulacton75952 ай бұрын
Bought one of these last week. Spent ages trying to get it to pair with my phone but it wouldn't. I have an Eero router which operates on 5 ghz but these operate on 2.5, but I'm not sure that this was the problem as I also have 2 Tapo cameras which work perfectly. Lost patience and took it back for a refund.
