Somehow I found your videos and I am hooked. I just ordered my first Rocketbook. I printed the sample template, laid an A5-size page of my messy notes on it and sent it to both OneDrive and OneNote. I thought it did a good job with OCR for both my print and cursive writing. When I get my Flip Executive size, I'm going to try removing a page, punching it for discs, and putting it in my A5 planner. Thank you! This will help reduce my paper clutter immensely.

Hi Jake, great video as usual. What I don't like about the OCR is that the formatting is all wonky in the text document that is created. What I wanted to do was copy the text to a word document every day and keep it in one document - unfortunately, the formatting is always so off that it just wouldn't work. Since the search is as good for handwritten notes though it is not a deal-breaker for me. Thanks again for all of your good videos.

I bought Core Rocketbook recently and have been testing its capabilities in a similar manner to your experiment in the video. Regardless of how neat I am or how well I stay within the lines, the resulting transcription when I send it to gmail places every word of a sentence on a new line. I have contacted their support desk and they don't have an answer as to why. Have you run up against this problem and how did you resolve it. Thanks

Jake - thank you for this. I also would love to find a program that keeps my image in place (perhaps if I put a bounding box around it or some key) but transcribes the handwriting around it to text. Do you know of a program that does that? Thanks.

Sounds neat. I can’t say I’ve come across anything that does that. Perhaps you could achieve what you’re looking for by using a Rocketbook and OneNote or Evernote as a destination paired with their OCR handwriting transcription.

I just don't find a need for it. I primarily use my Rocketbooks as agendas and for drawing and figure based notes, and don't have a need to have the text separated. If I were taking course notes I could see it as more valuable, but I've finished all that now. The search and titling is most valuable for me.

How do you get it to put text on another line? All my transcriptions come out together like a paragraph but I want them separated for example : This is one sentence This is a second sentence

Do I need a Rocketbook to test the app? My handwriting is atrocious and I wanted to test the OCR effectiveness before I made the purchase but the app (on android) never scanned the doc. :(

You don't. In the app settings you can access free PDF pages that you can print at home. You can't just use any page because the Rocketbook app is looking for that QR code. Good luck! ✌️

I have noticed that when my pdf in one drive is searchable with in the document but doesn't actually find my writing, it finds blank spots in the document. Were you able to search in the destination file?

I haven't had that issue yet. So it is finding the document because the word is there, but just doesn't highlight it in the correct space? Must not be mapping the transcript to the location in the file correctly... Strange.

@@JakeReevesVideo it finds the document in the rocketbook app but in onedrive, it doesn't find the document unless it is in the filename. It won't find the document if the word is in the body of the document. It is my handwritten scans. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding how it should work.

Slick vid, but just like the official tutorial, it doesn't tell you how to do it. I turned on transcription for Google drive destination ... now what??

Agreed it's turned on, and you've selected which form you want, all you have to do is scan a note like normal and send it to that destination.

unless you have perfect printing, the transcribe really sucks. great feature, but it comes out very wrong. I write in all caps and it screwed it all up.

Do not use music, it makes hearing what you are saying difficult. Also slow down down your speech as it will make your videos easier to understand. I am sure there is great information here, but the load music and fast speech makes it difficult to understand.
