I just watched like 5 reviews on this drone cause I'm very torn. Your vid is by far the most practical and best vid, thx for making this Jake! I am still not fully sold on it tho, I think it lost me on not being compatible with the DJ rc1 controller. I dont wanna carry another controller around for this and the phone controls seem "meh". I am looking for a pocket drone tho I can get a quick shot without out having the bust out the mavic 3 all the time. UGH cant decide. I can see the tracking works but its also kinda shaky looking tbh

@ Thanks for the reply. It has its charms though. Despite the poor image quality, the convenience of just putting it in your pocket and getting something is a great option. I have a Mavic 3 and it’s unfair to compare it with that but I find myself enjoying the Neo more for what it’s worth. Whether it’s worth getting the Flip or a Mini 4 Pro, it’s up in the air (pardon the pun).

Hi Jake, really enjoy your video’s! Is it possible to change the parameters for QuickShots with just using the button on the side of the flip? Planning on buying a drone for a year travel to Australia and Asia. Or would you recommend a different first drone? (Does it handle sea wind enough to get good shots)

not that I have found, You need to use your phone to set most the settings but once you do they stay set that way. I compare to the mini 4 here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnWkfpalgc-FbMU and that is the other drone I would recommend you consider

Great Review as always! I already have the RC2 controller for my Air 3. You mentioned you could buy the Flip and one battery for under $450. But you recommend the Fly more combo. Any idea if they will offer the Flip with extra batteries without a controller for those of us that already have a RC2 controller? (Basically, a Fly more combo minus a controller). Doubtful, but I can always hope!

I think in your case buy the flip the charging hub and 2 more batteries. You’ll be totally set and still save some money even if you add ND filters as well

Hi Jake, as always thanks for the extensive review! it looks to me like a nice vlogging drone to add to my "portfolio". However, as with the other drones, (at least here in Europe), you cannot buy the drone alone, without at least the RC-N3. Having already 3 functional RC's at home, that is pretty annoying. Is this the same in the US?

Brilliant video as always. Thank you! Just a quick point regarding 25 frames a second. I live in the UK and the normal digital terrestrial signal might be transmitted as 50 frames a second. I don’t have a problem with watching 25 frames a second on my Panasonic TX 50ex750b as it can show 24p,25p ,30p , 50p and 60p. I can use other 25p footage and blend it in with the 25p 4k slow mow taken with the flip. :-) My apple TV box is set to 60p :-)

If we look at the three Flip packages available, then the DJI Flip DRONE ONLY pricing should be between $142 - $270 - $310. @@MikeMena they don’t take them back. It’s not exactly worth it for them. It’s also very hard to make a review of a drone without the product. Jake has been buying the drones he reviews, they are business expenses but most he won’t use for his paid filming work after reviewing them. I’ve been getting drones from DJI for 12 years but that doesn’t mean I am not highly critical where needed. Most of them I then sell. Please remember it takes time which equals money to make these and Adsense will barely cover a battery. Honestly, if they wanted the drones back and my video didn’t have an integrated sponsor, then I simply wouldn’t review them. I won’t take money from a manufacturer for a “review” but many do.

It literally doesn’t matter in this case. He has 120K subscribers and a lot of people are watching this. The drone is like €400-€800. That are pennies. He makes way more from the sponsor deals and ads - and those things depend more on the DJI sending him the hardware early, regardless if it’s a loan or a „gift”/„payment”. If anything weights on his opinions, it’s more the relationship he has with companies, than some random, cheap gear.

well depends when you carry a mavic 3 or air 3 (which I usually do) it's quite a bit smaller
