I remember a Danish TV-crew was looking into the reasons why the African runners was so much better. Looked at feet and so many other variables. But the big ting is how they run barefoot and also taking that with them even with shoes. Also many African runners have lot of miles more running compared to competitiors. With the way Jacob has such a stabil style of running. Even when slow or fast he keeps the form. The form is also an indication what excersises he masters. Filip and Henrik do not have the same effective running style. More energy to do the same.

Amazing, he usually runs, when he was 13 years old, more than 100kms per week. Insane!! I´m 18 years old and usually run 75km per week :))) I really hope he will win Tokyo Olympics and I hope he will broke WR in 1500m! :)

I think if they run faster than 3:40 in the olympics he wins, he'll put in some insane surge 700 to go and just violate the rest of the field with his unreal strength

Idk. If it’s around 3:35 I think it’ll be tough to beat cheriyout and Jake Wightman. Jakob probably has the best chance between 3:27-3:32

@@Trackstaa_ idk cheruiyot isn't much of a kicker himself and the only reason he won world champs is because he was the only one that could run sub 3:30 but now jakob is only 0.3 seconds off his pb and considering in the last 2 years cheruiyot hasn't improved at all and jakob has had steady improvement there's no way he doesn't win

Yeah to beat him jakob might have to try go with him. Or do what he did in Monaco where he helps back and catches up. But then he’ll have to back his kick. To be honest I think Jakobs last year progression may be good enough to beat cheryiout this year though

Do you reckon most people running the 1500 wouldn’t benefit as much as the Ingebrigtsens do from doing these types of workouts compared to doing a bit more fast-paced workouts? I mean, having that natural speed isn’t normal. If he ran senior level mid distance mileage as a literal kid, it would almost seem like he barely ever had to work on speed.
@Trackstaa_
@Trackstaa_ 3 жыл бұрын
Yep, I think Jakob can run near 800m pace for a more sustained amount of time. Like on paper his kick shouldn't be that good, but I'm guessing it's predominantly due to his strength and endurance

@@Trackstaa_ Great! I don’t really have a coach (not officially) myself and sometimes get hung up on how I should conduct my training. I’ve definitely got less speed than them and there are certainly other ways to succeed than doing their style of training. Look at Hicham El Guerrouj’s training for example. Could you do a video covering the principals of your own style of training at some point? Would love to see that. From what I’ve seen previously it seems to be based on quite high mileage and big aerobic workouts (along with some workouts consisting of faster longer reps as well but lower overall volume).

Jakobs natural pace might have been developed by running with his bigger brothers, Filip and Henrik. So he have taken the pace from some of the fastest in europe, and made it his natural speed. The benefits from training with the greatest all the time from young age.

No it's not a myth.... The treadmill is running backwards. At the point of impact there's additional 'friction' because of the angle at which your foot naturally strikes the treadmill belt. I'm sure on the short term its totally fine.... But longterm running is deffinately not the best option. Outdoors running is safer..... And grass running is deffinately the ultimate. But the choice is yours. 👌👍
@BrayoFitnessTrainer
@BrayoFitnessTrainer 3 жыл бұрын
@@ebenburger111 I think pavement should be avoided at all cost. Treadmill is a better alternative....dirt road is better than treadmill then grass is the best. I'm on my break atm, but I got done with my collegiate career so now I'll be avoiding pavement and I plan on doing a lot of my running 4-7 miles per day on grass/turf. I want at least 62% of that to be barefoot.
