Haven’t bought a synth in like a month, so figured I’ll give Lagrange a shot. It definitely has a unique character and a useful musical range! It’s the type of synth that I know I’ll be using frequently. It’s so well made it’s a pleasure to use! Excellent presets management means I won’t be overwhelmed with clutter after a month or so, because it’s all alphabetical and you can make folders. If you accidentally init the patch overwriting your unsaved preset, there’s a little undo button in the preset window 🧡 It’s really a synth designed to be used and not just give you a thrill for a few hours. I’m pretty confident I’ll be getting more apps from this dev. Thanks for the great review Jakob and explaining the A/B knobs!

Hi Jakob! I bought this app yesterday because I remembered your memorably positive review of several months ago. At the time I couldn't afford it, let alone understand it in my musical noobishness-but yesterday, older, a little bit wiser, and a bit more flush, I got it. The SOUNDS, Jakob! OMG! Sometimes I buy iPad synths and the built-in sounds seem a little bit weak tea, a little washed out, especially when I try to play them on my LaunchKey. But Lagrange on my LaunchKey just about took my ears clean off! 😱😎🦑 So thank you for the recommendation! I hope you're keeping safe. You're a good egg. :)

I think this kind of modeled real instrument wave forms modulated with filters and resonator is the next frontier of synthesis. I used to miss the Sculpture synth in Logic, but I see this synth can do much more. Already enjoying Mersenne from this developer.

IceWorks/IceGears synths are just great! And I am still using Argon and Cassini regularly 🥴. This one though is their crowning achievement!

Yeah, still have Argon over here too. I must have made 500 presets for that thing by now. To bad it’s gone from the AppStore.

This is a great synth, with a terrific noise playground, and it’s as much fun as I’ve had engineering new sounds- it really helps that it’s all there at once (on an iPad anyway). Great review too- I hadn’t spotted the ‘copy’ feature!

Looking because I know I am under-using this synth - a familiar situation - and in my fairly extensive testing, it managed 8 or so tracks/instances running, in GarageBand iOS (iPadOS). It managed the most of all the synths in iOS I have, is the key point. Same songfile used for all my tests, it had one drum track plus one other synth, I used Poison 202 for that in all cases. It seems if the AU is really well-written, you can run with less issues, and the rule of thumb is, the smaller the download sizeof the synth, the more instances you can run, as you will know jacob. It’s not that a song might needs 8 layers, it’s that you might want to use three for each layer, for the L/Centre/R situation especially for a sound ‘moving’ around in stereo…again you know all this jacob, I am just laying it out…so, you can barely manage 3 layers of synth, if you want to do this method. Thanks for the exploration, it is an underrated synth, and they just brought out ‘kajita’ their echo/reverb AudioUnit.

What a great app and was inexpensive! Anyway, hits all the boxes and as far as FX I have mixed feelings about about an app that tries to everything - many, many, many great FX addons and with AUM it’s a snap. The developer is a real sharpie, his stuff is like cookies - just can’t stop with one or two. Jakob you sure know where to find excellent stuff. You ought to do tribute to the duster... sample it, bit crush, resonance, some filter sweeps and the sound could probably clean the speakers too! Thanks for your efforts I greatly appreciate it.

what app are you using to show the soundwave on the other iPad ?
@WhySoBroke5 жыл бұрын
That’s funny as soon as I purchased this synth the day it was released, the first thing I did was connect it to a Nanokey Studio. Can you show hot to map the knobs and save templates?
@JakobHaq5 жыл бұрын
When you have your nanoKEY Studio connected to Lagrange, turn on MIDI mapping mode like I’m showing here 10:40 - then simply touch a knob in Laplace that you want to map. When it’s highlighted, simply turn a knob on the nanoKEY Studio. Keep doing this with as many knobs as you want. Turn off MIDI mapping mode and then press the cogwheel icon. Scroll down to MIDI mapping, tap to enter and there you can save your mappings.

How do I save the preset file? Can use it on fl studios mobile?
@JakobHaq2 жыл бұрын
Preset browser is located at the top of the synth to the right (the field with an arrows at both sides of it). FL Studio has support for Inter App Audio (IAA) and so does Lagrange Synthesizer. When adding a new track in FL Studio mobile, choose IAA / Audiobus in the list. Then when the instrument track opens up, look at the right side and locate the word “Audiobus”. Tap there and look for Lagrange synth in the list. 👍
