It really should've been obvious to anyone why JB turned down that money. It's been a long ass time since we've seen championship winning college teammates be all on the same NBA team, especially with all of them at their peak. He didnt ask his boys to take less to stay, he chose to take less so they could make as close to their market value as possible. That's a rare breed, and everyone should be saluting him for that.

@@88triz not a 10 year deal dude…I’m referring to the full max (35% of the cap I believe) for a player who has at least 10 years of service…so instead of locking into a 5 year max now (he has less than 10 years of experience) he can resign in 3 years when he’ll have 10 years under his belt and the salary cap is expected to balloon so the deal he could command would be 35% of a salary cap roughly about $250 million…also keep in mind that each subsequent year they get a significant raise of 8-12 % of their previous years salary, we won’t know the exact details until he resigns

As a die hard Knick fan, I would never, 113 left on the table, yikes. Shiiiddd, in order for me to even consider that, we would have to be definite championship contenders, in reality my knicks are not that.
