I know some people have made a lot of issue about Amen Thompson 3 point shooting as reason for him to not start but I can tell you that his lack of 3 point shooting is none a factor on this team’s offense. In fact, just this last 3 games he has started the Rockets offense have been probably the best in the NBA and they blowout teams starting in the 1st Quarter and that’s because of Amen Defense. Dude is a great compliment to Sengun for rim protection. He had like 3 blocks in the first half. If he’s a starter he’ll lead the league in blocks per game as a wing. That’s how great this kid is. I want to see what the Rockets do in the playoffs because Amen has to start. He’s a game changer. I love Brooks but Amen brink a different dimension to this team defense. His length is an elite level problem for other teams.

Alpi issue is mental + process information more than anything else. Crying after the ref for calls, not getting rid of the ball quick enough at times when he gets double triple team. Sengun has been a bit shaky lately; he was getting cooked so bad in the first quarter against the Pels that Udoka pulled him. And while I'd say overall he's been good on D and that quarter was an outlier, what isn't is Sengun missing waaaaay too many shots within 5ft. He works so hard to get into a decent shot position, but he isn't finishing with consistency. We need outside shots to fall and for Sengun's interior action to be successful to truly unlock the spacing.

Next 20 games will be very tough. If they can hang on to a top 4 spot through those games they should be able to lock up a top 4 position. I'd be careful about trading Reed. Expectations for him was a bit overly enthusiastic. In the long run I believed and continue to believe Reed will be fine. Maybe it's best for him to go to the G-league and get some reps. Remember many were down on Cam, but he was a scorer coming out of college. Reed is a shooter that has hit a bad patch. I expect he will find his shot back before the end of the year and that's really all that's needed from him. he doesn't have to carry the team in his rookie year. Maybe the Rockets are scared Reed will flop in the G League too. I doubt it, but Cam should be getting all his minutes and when Tari comes back, shorten his minutes too if he needs maintenance time for his leg. Cam might be the super star we have been wanting to draft the whole time. Cam can read his defender unlike Jalen. Now that we are looking better I'm hoping Fred will shape up. I would be shocked if Stone makes a trade during the season. He values keeping the same players together. I feel he would rather bring a player on the team in the off season so they can all go through the preseason together. I still want Fox and Naz Reid and dump Fred and Jock. Basically the team receiving JG or Sengun would see an average of their current salary + each year of their extension (so for JG it's around $29 mil) as their incoming amount, but the Rockets outgoing salary would only equal their current contract. So basically Rockets would need to ALSO send out money to a 3rd/4th team (without taking anything back) to make up the difference (in Jalen's case it's about $17 mil or so)

Alpi fan here. Should be blind not to see the impact that he is making, but … he needs to be more aggressive offensively. Not an all star performance so far. I can’t say his team mates are helping him in that area though. He always has to create his own shot. Near zero playmaking by others so far to feed him.

It's a nobrainer. Fox is the guy for the Rockets. They only need to chip FVV (42MM) for Fox (34MM) + Trey Lyles (8MM) and done deal. FVV would bring stability for the Kings while Fox will put us in the conversation of WCF against OKC or maybe the NBA Finals.

That makes no sense. Cam isn't breaking down half court defenses like Green. Alpi and Green are by far our best players in actually brawling down defenses from their own self creation.

@ jalen doesn’t really break down defenses unless they’re terrible teams. He’s bad against good teams. Cam pairs better with Sengun as long as his defense is better than jalens, which may not be the case

The Pelicans looked like the Silas Rockets. Let's just say it, Jalen is only good against bad defenses. Sheppard IS a point guard, you would see a drop off if you replaced him with Jalen. Amen's handle isn't good enough yet, but you might use Holiday as the back up point(which is what Udoka did in the tournament). As long as we are winning I don't see Sheppard going down to the G-league. Cam has earned some minutes against certain teams but I don't think his overall game is up to Udoka's standards. As long as they are in second or third place in the West nothing major is going to happen. Patience is a virtue, we are doing fine, there is no need to do anything major in season. Enjoy how good they have become and don't get too eager to make changes. I don't think Fox is our guy - waiting for Devin Booker.
