I’m not sure if you’re watching ALL the Alabama games. But as a huge Bama fan who watches EVERY game and analyses ALL film right now he’s definitely not NFL material. Bro, he cannot process defenses, hardly ever goes to his 2nd and 3rd reads. Stares down receivers. Only hits deep passes that are WIDE open. Cannot consistently hits slants or check downs. And whether yall realize it or not he doesn’t like to run. He’s not one of those beast type running QBs. And he’s scared to make mistakes. His progress is solely based on Coach Deboer dumming down his air raid offense and calling run QB run plays to fit his skill set because he will not hardly run when the pocket collapses. Love the kid, but nfl ready is a stretch. If ALL the conditions are not perfect(o line blocks well, receivers get wide open, right okay call, etc) then he will not succeed.
@BamaChamp2 ай бұрын
The point is to hit wide open passes, not throw it into coverage 😂 and he goes through reads often. He still needs to improve that area more, but other than that, he's solid and his stats back it up. (Short, intermediate, and deep throws are all solid)

I think his ceiling is incredibly high but yes, that intermediate game needs work, same as last year. New offense to learn, he got there last year and with even better coaching I think he will get there this year. Job one though, at the moment, is working on that uglyass slide. I want him to always try and avoid contact but I don't want to see him hurt himself while doing so. 😂 Roll Tide Roll

Well that’s the problem. Why is it pre determined. Can he not read a defense. I don’t think so. I love Jalen. But he’s a gifted athlete playing qb. Sure he has a cannon. A real cannon. So did Danny Woodson if your a Bama fan you may remember him. And he could run like Jalen. But are you qb worthy. Can you make the right throw to the right guy on 3rd and 8. He does many time by pass a short sure throw for a longer one many many times.
@BamaChamp2 ай бұрын
@timtapscott8737 pre determined reads give teams advantages. If you haven't noticed, many top teams do that, which is why they're successful on plays. Ty Simpson does that very often. Multiple reads are only necessary when there's no one open. (No one being open isn't a good thing)

Well when you go to Bad teams that happens. Most qbs don’t stick with the team that drafts them. But you have an argument. But seems to me Tua sucked and then they got talent and he didn’t suck. Mac had a great OC and he was good. He takes a HC job and then gets a def cord to call Plays. He sucked. It happens.

@@Peezster being surrounded with talent sure didn’t hurt CJ Stroud. Scout the player not the school. Before Stroud OSU QBs were busts. Before Mahomes air raid QBs were busts. It’s about the player not the school or system they play in.
