@BJrok Actually, Eric Clapton was raised by his maternal grandparents---he didn't know that was so until he was about ten or eleven, I think. By most accounts they were extremely supportive of him.

@BJrok Eric Clapton was born to an underage single mother and raised by his grandparents---whom he thought were his actual parents until he was a teenager. His grandparents encouraged his music and bought him his first guitar.
