They sound pretty much identical in pitch but the LP has more high overtone. More definition in the sound. The Gon Bops sounds a bit muffled as if higher overtones have been removed.

Same here, and just bought a set of LP granite Temple Blocks. Used the jam blocks for clave/bell patterns with African 4/4 rhythms, and sometimes for Latin jams too. If you are playing with a larger group, you need the sound to cut through.

Me gusta mas el gon bops, tiene un sonido menos brillante pero mas redondo que lp
