Welcome to Sovereign Centre! Conveniently located in the heart of Liguanea (LI-GAN-KNEE), Kingston, the centre is modern, 3-level, one-stop shopping complex for all your needs. The centre houses a variety of brand name stores from A to Z…well, almost, from A to Y, Ammars to Yao Restaurant on three levels. Some main attractions include two cinemas, a freestanding bank and, on the lower floor, a food court with 10 shops offering a selection of gastronomical delights. Parking is secure and has been expanded to accommodate the overflow.
The history of Sovereign Centre is as colourful as the place itself. The Loshusan brothers purchased the land with the idea of developing a shopping centre. Between 1989 and 1993, Clifton Yap Architects envisioned and interpreted the concept, which materialized into a unique shopping mall design.

I am currently of age 60 ,-and when I used to reside in Ocho (aka 'Ochi') Rios in the late '70s-mid '80s,, (& I regularly holidayed in Jamaica up un'til 2010),-no such multi-floor, Shopping Centres were in Ochi nor in any other main Jamaican town!! Truly Jamaica is not all about Ghetto lifestyles,-melanin-rich folk build, will own, and enjoy at our leisure,-great buildings of commerce!

If you think it needs upgrading put your money into it. Florida is swamp land. Last week an alligator ate a woman walking by a lake. Floridians have so many bugs they screened off their garages. Snakes crawl into people pipes, swimming pools toilets. It's so darn hot and humid not an ounce of breeze. People run ac all year round. In Jamaica we have natural ac call "breeze". Your beaches are ugly. Florida is a flat ugly place with man made amenities to duplicate what's naturally found on the islands. Plus you have a racist governor and you guys put a racist man in the white White House. Stop comparing Florida to Jamaica. You have poorer areas in Florida than some places in Jamaica.

The heat is so bad there they run AC all year round. They have to build a screen canopy around their pools. Who they heck does that in Jamaica. It’s a security issue as to why all these Businesses refuse your showcasing their establishment. They have to implement and comply with the security protocols …Can anyone also see the differences between uptown and downtown peoples .. hint! One obvious one look at their mode oh dressing, another..no loud talking very orderly waiting their turn in line.. it’s like night and day.. 😆 proper.. therefore Jamaica isn’t only about street vendors .. our malls facilitate our needs comparably to those overseas.

I'm always trying to compare what I see in Kingston with Florida. I just want Kingston to get to that level its going in the right direction. I think this mall should have had escalators. If fontana pharmacy can have an escalator and an elevator why not a mall like this .

I'm always comparing what I see in Florida with Kingston. I hope Jamaica don't get to that level. We don't have racists people and we wouldn't elect a prime minster like Trump which Florida helped put in office. Americans always comparing other countries with themselves and want every where to be like them. The countries around the world are all different. They were designed that way. Kingston is a city it doesn't need to be like the state of Florida. Jamaica doesn't need to like Florida or the USA.
