"In Jamaica they make a sweet & savory rice-dish that is a cool side-dish to fiery Jamaican jerk & curry dishes. They make it on the stovetop like a pilaf. I've got a quick rice-cooker version. Start with 2 cups basmati rice & add 1 15 1/2-ounce can coconut milk with enough water added to total 2 1/2 cups liquid. Add the dried spices: 1/2 teaspoon each thyme, onion powder, garlic powder and salt. Give this mixture a thorough stir. Last, add 1--can well-drained and rinsed black beans & do not stir. Put the pan in the rice cooker, close the lid, turn it on, & in 18 minutes, the rice will be done." Audio picks up after that.
