PoJo-we eat the breadfruit after roasting it on what we call a “coal stove” until the skin is black then we peel it. We either eat it after roasting it or we fry it after roasting it. My favorite is when it’s fried. So delicious 🤤 with pretty much everything! Breadfruit is a part of Jamaica’s national dish: Ackee and salt fish and roast breadfruit. We typically add the salt after we fry it.

Good with vegetable dish too, eg callaloo, ackee anything even fish. It also can be eaten by itself, roasted with a sprinkle of salt, roasted then fried sprinkled with salt. Ohhh, we also boil them.

Okay this was the best response i got on this. Interesting about the religion i thought the only religion that didn’t eat pork was Muslim? But the more you know. Thank you for sharing this comment with me i will do my research 👌🏽

@@PoJoTheBackPackerRastafarians, Seven day Adventist and a few others don't eat pork. Most places that sell stew peas meals also cook the stews separately, 1 with pork (and sometimes beef) and without pork usually beef.

These people have zero customer service skills, they are not even trying to upsell you lol, do you wanna try our sausage lol. I personally like jerk barbecue. You tan very well. I love scotch bonnet pepper in everything. You need a drink to wash it down with like a Ting Soda, which they should have also offered you!?

Ive been there three times and to be honest I don't like the roughness of how they treat people. No customer service at all, and they will try to overcharge. The only person ill buy from is the young rasta selling natural juices. Im glad you enjoyed it. Portland is nice.

😂 yea these places had the price on the menu so i was okay. And as far as the customer service i don’t know I’m different it would be NICE if someone was friendly when purchasing but where im from people are rude everyday so i don’t expect much from anyone anywhere i am lol. All in all it was good.. i missed the juices but no worries im going to double back around all of Jamaica and go to the juice spot next time 👌🏽

@@PoJoTheBackPacker You’ll find REALLY good Jamaican food in NY, FL, and even in TX. You just won’t find everything. You can find the roast breadfruit frozen in some Korean supermarkets in Westchester County NY. South Koreans really cater to a variety of cultures.
