He may not be the most "efficient" player according to modern day analytics and impact metrics, but he inspired a whole generation of ballers with his exciting play and talents. I do like the points you made there about Jamal Crawford being a locker room presence and inspired a lot of young ballers in today’s era as of right now. Unfortunately, this is only talking about his game and his game on the basketball court and if his talent can lead to winning games and of course, a championship. Quite simply put, no, he just isn’t a capable franchise player. The stats in his career say it all. His game is without a doubt, aesthetically pleasing, but what good is all that if you can’t win games. As far as needing to be a lebron/jokic archetype, I in many ways agree but also disagree. Yes, there exists players who play multi-faceted practically like a LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, Giannis, etc, but there are also players who play 1-dimensionally such as those who can only score, rebound, pass, etc. Now if we are focusing on a particular player, if I had to choose a player who would give me the best chance of winning a championship, I’d take the multi-dimensional player 10 times out of 10. The 1-dimensional player on the other hand, they peak as a role piece for a potentially contending team.

If you’ve got skill, you’ve got skill and that’s awesome. But it doesn’t mean you are the best player for helping a team win games, as other aspects of the game that typically don’t make highlights are important as well. Jamal Crawford was often inefficient, and not good defensively from the sounds of it. But he did display some solid skill when he executed from the looks of it. He’s overrated in that he shouldn’t be considered one of the single best sixth men in the history of the league, and is often considered such because of the three sixth man awards, but nevertheless he carved out a decent career for himself as a bench player I’d argue.

I don't agree with using playoff stats for Crawford as a way of dismissing him from a 6th man conversation. His prime years was spent on bad teams in Chicago and New York, where he didn't even make the playoffs. He wasn't a constant 6th man until 2011 with Atl where he avg nearly 20 points off the bench in the playoffs, but they weren't a serious contender and they certainly didn't lose because Crawford didn't perform. Same with the clippers, Crawford fulfilled his role, they didn't lose because he didn't play well, he actually did a great part keeping them in games when CP was out Edit: the Knicks and the Bulls in the 2000s were dumpster fire franchises. Blaming Jamal Crawford for them being bad is a gross overstatement when the management of both teams were shit. Just looking at the Bulls in 2000 they traded the ROY for Tyson Chandler with the idea that Tyson would run SF, then drafted Eddy Curry with the Fourth overall pick. Next draft they traded Ron Artest for an old Jalen Rose. And none of this was because they had Jamal Crawford because he was barely on the team, he wasn't even a consistent starter at this point. Saying that teams were bad because they trusted someone to lead them who couldn't is a massive overstatement when talking about Jamal. If the Knicks trusted him as much as you say they did he would've been on a Max Contract or at least something close to one, he wasn't. He led them in scoring because he was the best scorer on the team once Marbury got suspended.

Oh naw this is blasphemy, Jamal Crawford isn’t overrated. Watching him growing up was a pleasure, every one emulated his game. If you watch his games and highlights it’s very easy to see he could be one of the best players on the court at any given night and he absolutely was several games.

Jamal Crawford is a very rare type of player, his role was basically to take tough shots, man probably came off a screen for an open shot twice a season, he was the guy teams would pass the ball too when the play gets broken up and you have to throw up a prayer of a shot, I’ve noticed that nowadays players don’t even shoot the ball at the end of quarters to beat the buzzer because they don’t want to mess up their fg%, Crawford didn’t care about all that 😂, if he had the ball and there was time to shoot, he was shooting it. So while superstar franchise player might be a stretch, you are still talking about a 6’5 shooting guard with a handle second to none and a great shot, he definitely could’ve been utilized better but again all of his teams just expected him to take tough shots

Jamal Crawford one of my favorite players and most exciting players ever but he fits into the mold of being a bad defensive player who relies solely on hitting shots on offense which wasn't always the case. When he was on he was really good but you couldn't count on that as often as you'd like. Still a great 6th man to me tho but probably the best of all time.
