JamAttack CC5 - Jam Gauntlet

IMPORTANT: I should say that it's 100% fine to continue projects you've already started and enter them here. It's a 10 month window so that won't be a huge advantage. ALSO: Your level should be at least a minute long. Cuz I forgot to mention this, I won't consider this with the true winners, but I will with the gauntlet. SUMMARY: Deadline is Feb 6th, 2025 Rules: 1 - Easy-Insane demon 2 - Similar style to Glorious Fortress and The Cellar Path 3 - Have a crystal at the end that looks like the crystal at the end of Glorious Fortress, that the player takes for themselves or hint that they take it. Use a different color. 4 - Song must be on Newgrounds or in the GD music library 5 - No platformer levels 6 - Under 80k objects per minute. Under 300k objects total. 7 - Must run well or have an LDM that does. 8 - Up to 4 creators per entry 9 - Keep it PG Judging Criteria: 1 - Gameplay (hint: I like simpler more gimmick and sync based gameplay, never been a fan of the complex flow stuff) 2 - Visual appeal/polish 3 - Style fits Glorious Fortress and The Cellar Path 4 - How well the Theming is done 5 - Immersion/Atmosphere. (Don't just make the level look nice, make it feel alive, and make me feel like I'm really there.) Prizes: 1st place - $100 2nd place - $50 3rd place - $30 4th/5th place - $10 ------------------------------ FAQ: Q: Can I put my crystal somewhere else in the level and not the end? A: Honestly yeah. As long as the player "takes it" in some way you're good. Having it at the end is just one way of doing that. Never thought of that. Q: Do playtesters and verifiers count towards the 4 person limit? A: No. Only people actually making the level do. (decorators, gameplay creators, etc) Q: Will levels be judged on originality? A: Despite forgetting to mention this one, yes. Try to make something that hasn't been made before, and certainly don't just copy my levels.

Damn, I might actually consider joining a contest for a change. Giving your audience the ability to contribute to *your* cinematic world by expanding it with different unique themed locations is actually an extremely cool idea and is probably one of the coolest ideas for a Creator Contest, like *ever.* Also the prizes really don't matter here, because anyone who wins will get the most ULTIMATE prize of all - *their levels will become a part of the JAMATTACK CANON!* If that's not the most epic reward of any unofficial CC ever hosted, I really don't know what is.

Honestly… I’ve been working on a level rn and I think it’s pretty feature worthy. Ima also start another project for this too. It’ll be a cartoony cave style and I’m shooting for feuture-epic rate. It’ll take Probobly the full 10 months (hopefully not more) but this is gonna be my new project I guess! I’m excited to see what happens, thanks for this opportunity lol

Idea collected: Taking the 1.0 style and turning it into a sort of simulation style! You'd probably start in some grassland, a bit like the beginning of (you guessed it) Glorious Fortress. There, the player will encounter some enigmatic portal taking them to a vast blue corridor, with some static-looking black and white structures combined with some odd looking... jump rings? Anyway, as the player traverses through this seemingly adorable level, something happens. The world begins to jitter. The corridor inexplicably shifts colours. Things move and rotate on their own command. This isn't much apparent when you first see it... but it gets worse as time passes. By the end, absolutely unexplainable things happen. Your icons pass through solid blocks, collide with background or foreground structures, and everything seems to be on it's last legs. Eventually, everything turns to black. What was that place? Where are you now? Will you ever get out? Were you playing a game... ... or was thåt ğąmé pĽAÝing ÝŒŰ-

I suck at creating but I have a free idea any creators wanna use. Since the cellar path in like a dark place and the glorious fortress is brighter, you guys should make an underwater type of level. You can also add submarines for your transitions. Sometimes the player will also go up to the shore. At the end of the level, the player will be seizing the blue gem underwater with stone monuments and Poseidon-like protectors around it. Good luck on your builds.

First time entering a creator contest. Hope I do well... (lol I'm prob gonna get rinsed and slammed to the floor by all the other entries).
