I totally agree! BUT. Ok you extended the jamb on the exterior side of the jamb and reinstalled the brick molding correctly so your storm door will still fit. But now, they do sell a 2" or 3" aluminum extension threshold piece that snaps into that threshold. So you'll need to install a pressure treated 2x4 or 2x6 kicker with Tapcon fasteners to support it and then either wrap it with aluminum coil or use the pvc. Again, In my opinion, to be done correctly.

If you want the threshold to be the same distance as the jamb then yes. I was not worried about it being the same distance. I just wanted the threshold on something solid so it didn't get ripped off by people stepping on it.
