I give Dumbo a pass because its overall message is animals do NOT belong at the circus. Its a very abused and fearful life for them, especially elephants. Im glad at least that he got that message out there.

Messages are a good thing, but movies have to be good too! 😃
@StevenTLawson26 күн бұрын
@@angelzavala2254 Exactly if you have a message in a bad movie, I just assume you either don't really care about the message so why should I, you don't understand the message you are trying to send so I shouldn't listen to you, or you think it's something to make fun of and I should instead support it because of how absurd it is.

Here’s a fun fact Tim Burton was originally signed to direct movies like Drop Dead Fred, Stay Tuned, and believe it or not, Jurassic Park!

How about a video about top/worst 5 Tim Curry roles ? It'll be hard cuz every role he played are insane. Tim Burton created some pearls but my favorite movie from this insane movie producer is Corpse Bride (back i was young i had a crush on Emily the bride). Otherwise Mars Attack, Sweeney Todd the demonic barber from Fleet street are really great. In Mars Attack i love the weapon who turned peoples into red or green skeletons but my best friend liked the one who shrunk peoples.

I have to admit it’s really refreshing to get a list discussing the best and worst Tim Burton films and not have Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on the worst list. I feel like most cynical reviewers would make a worst Tim Burton film list merely just so they can put CATCF on their list and have an excuse to rant about the film. I admire seeing a reviewer looking into OTHER Burton films when talking about the worst.

Most people praised the message about animal cruelty in circuses 🎪 and animals don't belong in circuses in the Dumbo remake but I didn't even buy it. I am sorry the message comes off too preachy and shovel down in your face. Moral of this story filmmakers - If you are going to have a message about animal care and environmental friendly, then show the message not tell us. Show don't tell.

Thank you for not including The Nightmare before Christmas because although it is a Tim burton film, Henry Selic who made the stop motion animation is the true creator of this film because Disney just slaps Tim Burton's name instead of Henry?
@mihovilkoncurat448026 күн бұрын
Really good video man, kind of sad for me. Not seeing Big Fish in the best list but really happy that you gave Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood the top spots. All three of these are some of my favorite movies ever. And I'm glad you made a great video like this.

Well some movies like the 90’s Addams Family movie and a Series of Unfortunate events movie would be mistaken for Burton work. As much as I respect him but I think that Batman Returns could have done more like I always felt that Batman and Penguin should be like Eliot Ness and Al Capone from the Untouchables.

Aw man, I was hoping Charlie and the Chocolate Factory would be on the best list. I love that movie
@crsproductions200326 күн бұрын
The only film of Burton’s I have seen fully would be his adaptation of Roald Dahl’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which I very much prefer over the 1971 adaptation with Gene Wilder, and admittedly I can get annoyed when people call it a remake when it clearly isn’t for obvious reasons.

I swear, the only reason why the Dumbo remake had that ending was because Disney didn't want the animal rights' activists to get a bee in their bonnet over the movie.

One of my favourites is Big Fish. It's nice to see someone different as the male lead, and Ewan/Albert are both charming (though I don't know how accurate the accents are, I'm sure a local can verify 😂)

I too this day still have my vhs tape of Edward Sissorhands even though I no longer have a vhs players. Its was the one movie I refused to give up when I donated the rest of my vhs tapes. I resonate with the movie not just because it was one of my first Tim Burton movie but because I felt that kindredship with Edward myself as well. I know what it felt like to be an outcast for both my hobbies & being neurodivergent. On the one hand I was bullied for my love of horror but then also had people who took advantage of my kindness & naive willingness to help people. It wasn't until I got older that I realized they were only being nice to me so I would give them answer to homework or group work questions & I decided I wasn't going to do that anymore they showed their true nature & joined the people who were already bullying me. It's why I will always stand up for & resenate with a kindhearted misfit

Two words: Sweeney Todd. Lots of great misanthropic music. Epiphany: "We *ALL* deserve to die, even you Mrs Lovett, even I."

Oh thank goodness it wasn't just me who felt the same way about Dark Shadows! I especially hated how they tried to frame Barnabas as a hero...for the EXACT SAME REASONS THAT YOU DID! Personally, I still think it's Tim's worst movie. I mean, children were the target demographic for Alice and might have got something out of it, but who was Dark Shadows intended for? I'm really glad you put Edward Scissorhands at number one. Either that or Nightmare Before Christmas is his magnum opus - absolutely! Though I personally prefer Edward. It really spoke deeply to me, being disabled myself, and my gosh...the ending of the film left me utterly SHOCKED. Yet, the tragedy of it all made the film more powerful than if it had a happy ending💔

As a musical fan, I was hoping Sweeney Todd would make it to the "best" list (It's such a solid adaption and I just adore HBC as Mrs. Lovett. Plus the atmosphere in the movie is perfect). I do love the video though, I wasn't even aware a few of them (such as dumbo) were tim burton.
