I think the best part about James Acaster is the completely down-to-earth home stories he tells. Incredibly relatable stories and worth listening to everything that comes out the lads mouth!

I did it too when i was a teenager had to share the bed with a friend of mine. We did the thingy immediately hahaha the next morning he was pissed off that i kicked him in the face in the middle of the night (and farted twice). It was so stupid, i'd just sleep normally now days.

His mannerisms and delivery must have changed mid 2014, as he's a lot more deadpan in this routine from late 2014, than he was early 2014 and 2013 -when he was smiling and grinning all over the show. I much prefer his style with the deadpan and side eye movements and head turns, to all the grinning! Interesting seeing how he's developed the stand up character.

He missed one there, should have ended the set with "sit up, take off your T shirt, and ROLL OVER" for the triple callback.
@adeadgirl13 Жыл бұрын
Based on how much comedians hone their jokes, he probably tried the triple callback and decided it was too long and kind of confusing coz you sit up take off the shirt and then you have to lie back down and if you don't mention the lying back down then the rolling over imagery gets confusing coz how do you roll over while sitting up?

I'll let you in on a secret: they're the same thing. Half or more of comedians' real life stories aren't real. e.g. "Little Bits", I've also heard he got his name from a child crossing the road.

I swapped round for more space, you can shove someone's feet quite hard without waking them up. I dunno this was never a gay thing for me. Like the man says, all the bits are still aligned, if it's a gay thing, it makes no sense

I love James Acaster.. but my one comment is that he recycles A LOT f his jokes. I get what it’s like to be a comedian and it’s hard to constantly write new material, but I’ve seen 4 shows where he’s literally used the same 6 jokes in each show
@backtothebooks92016 жыл бұрын
It's called a set. Comedians can't have new jokes every time they go on stage, they write a set, with a few variations and they tour that for about a year and then they write a new set. Some repeat more than others but if you watch a comedian at the Edinburgh Fringe, then on Mock the Week, then Live at the Apollo, then it will be that set over and over again.
