I could be wrong but I think the audience were a bit quiet at the start because so few of them knew what a spinning wheel was. There was quite a big laugh at 1:45 when he mentioned "Spinning wool" and the penny dropped for a lot of the audience.
@dreday33039 ай бұрын
You are probably right as I was thinking, what type of spinning wheel is he talking about. But this comedian sometimes likes the awkwardness.

@SquidandCatAdventures8 ай бұрын
I wasn't sure what he said first couple of times - combo of him saying it fast and no on talking about spinning wheels these days. Maybe a good portion of the audience was French Canadian and it's a phrase that doesn't come up often so you might be right for some. Loved the story.

When I was in primary 1 and 2 my mum was a substitute teacher and science teacher at my school so she sometimes would teach my class. I used to always take advantage of the fact she was my mum and I would get so upset whenever she didn’t show me special treatment. I was the perfect student normally but when my mum was teaching I was constantly acting out and annoying her because I knew in that moment I had immunity. I must have been a nightmare to teach.

I like the way this is kind of extended from the Heckler's Welcome bit. He should have kept the "that doesn't get laugh here ..spinning wheels castles...., but it's weird in the UK too" bit in the US hecklers tour, and he should have left in the stuff that makes me him look like he's being a dick to children in the Roald Dahl bit, inspite of the US theoretically not liking meanness as much, cuz yeah it makes him look like more of a dick, but it also was therefore funnier. And it's the rest of the show already wins us back pretty easily.
