I love seeing him drop his character for a bit and be vulnerable, I love his character too of course

I love him but it ruins the act for me a little bit, I want him to be a funny clever idiot all the time.He done well to keep it up during task master.

I absolutely applaud Acaster for mustering the courage to expose himself like this, boldly accepting the chance of humiliation and developibg a totally new way to perform. I love this man❤

I love how instead of avoiding heckles, he adapts the show to suit them. The content is still there but since heckles are allowed he wont get annoyed. Genius!

I saw him this year, and my audience was so nice. Not a single heckle! It was a great show. But, I can't help but wonder what it would have been like if there were a few heckles.

3:20 those fun bunnies sound like Seth Meyers’ Corrections jackals except we don’t get to do it live, we respectfully deconstruct his show and ego at safe distances of time and location. Love this idea by James, it’s like a relaxed performance for neurotypicals! Being insecure is the price talented artists pay for being truly great. Only the audience and history knows how great. ❤

Seeing it in Belfast (a very polite city) and LA (where performance in general is revered like a religious service) I will say, a respectful audience is very good discouragment from a few people who might consider heckling. Wish I had seen an earlier incarnation, which was a half mile from my apartment.

I saw James Acaster live once in Nottingham and was genuinely really enjoying it, we were at the front but it was so off-putting when he kept pointing out people were not paying attention and took issue with people having food etc. since then I'm much less of a fan, hope he can finally get over the issue, whilst I agree all the behaviours are rude and ruin the experience for others, nothing is worse than the act themselves pointing it out in a self conscious and unfunny way...

It was a flop....He had some good material/stories, but it was not at all what was advertised (Don't expect jimmy carr audience/heckler work....just him on stage telling stories with odd cuts of him beating on drums or playing some sort of teather ball.... It was like when you go out to eat and you order chicken expecting a baked breast and they bring you chicken fingers with mayonaise....? Wtf not what you advertised or what I ordered....but it's still chicken....

I mean... it wasn't a flop. He said, "heckle me if you want." He didn't say, "I'll take you down," because that's not who he is. The show was very successful within the parameters that were advertised and sold out pretty much everywhere.
