I honestly thought at the time that XO was going to be huge, its a shame it never worked out as with the people involved you would assume it would have.

@@gggggg22322 full right wing would mean all your ideologies are right wing. TG is not that. His political shift is a response to the reasonable left not existing anymore. It’s a response of many and how the democrats went from winning the last election comfortably to losing easily.

I think fundamentally the problem with the XO was that the directions Will and Brian wanted to go with the channel were too different. The videos felt too disjointed from one another.
@mdbp69
@mdbp69 15 күн бұрын
I don’t remember who’s interview it was, but I remember hearing someone say that Brian and Laurence wanted more documentary type videos, and like those sports related trips they made at the beginning, and Will wanted to do more buzzfeed type stuff, and "googles most asked questions" and so on. Remember also hearing that they then had a budgeting problem from the company that owned the channel, and that combined with the disjoint in direction killed the channel

From afar WillNE could be the best at maximising value from KZbin, but he's also the poster child for low effort slop in my mind. The old reaction stuff, the over the top thumbnails and algorithm hunting. It works, but it also turns your content towards a child audience.
@Nxxc.
@Nxxc. 18 күн бұрын
Mate he posts some of the best long form content on KZbin, all the reaction stuff is just to fund his main channel videos which are far more creative than most the dross on UK KZbin atm.

XO seemed like it was caught in between ideas. True Geordie (and Laurence by association) were the only real football creators out of the original four. Some of the early sports stuff was really good, but it didn’t really maximise Will and Stephen

Problem with him is he’s going down the Trump loving Russell Brand area where everything’s a conspiracy and everything is anti-government and pro billionaire. If he stopped doing that nonsense I think he’d give himself a chance to rebuild. But it’s a rabbit hole he refuses to back down from at the moment on his main channel.
