I so agree with you ... to put it blunt-ly!! For me, I watched American Idol and saw James Blunt singing Monsters with Iam Tongi and was so deeply touched by the powerful performance and the kindness of James Blunt with Iam Tongi.

After my dad passed, I just didn't cry. Not because I didn't want to rather because they didn't come. Then one day, I came across the video, Monsters, and wept. The song hit me personally because he had dementia and reached the point where he often did not recognize me but I knew he loved me, I remembered my daddy and how he would keep the monsters away.

I’m so happy for him and of course his father. I lost my husband, this past August 23, to the same disease. I just heard Monsters this morning. Started to watch the video. Saw the emotion in James eyes. So I had to find out more about the song. When I read it, I thought, how ironic. I have good days, but mostly bad days still. I’ve had a couple of bad days. This song and video made me cry for about 20 minutes I’m talking bawling like a baby. But I actually feel better. I usually do after a good cry. But I can’t just sit down and force myself to cry like I need to. Thank you James for helping me out. God bless you and your family

James, Watching your video. And that song “monsters “ came at a time of my healing I was ready to hear it. Losing my father was devastating😢 this song gave my sister and I an outlet that spoke so close to our hearts. Thank you so much. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability to speak to our own. 🥰🥰

Love this song because I don’t think men are recognized enough for the sacrifices that they make for their family. I get that mothers are also but I imagine there is a whole lot that a father does that no one ever acknowledges. Regardless if they love a job or not they work it, even down to what they eat I would bet a lot make do to provide for their family first. It don’t matter if a man had a dream the second he becomes a father his desires and dreams go to the way side. Even in the birth of his kids he is expected to go right back to work. Vacations become what his family wants. People need to just look around and realize that person you call dad was once just a man that decided to make his family his new dream and say thank you!

This is just painful to watch. And not because of the topic, but because of the constant interuptions and awkward remarks. The viewers are mostly watching to hear what your guest are saying, and your guest nearly didn't get to finish a sentence...

I loved his music and his voice but his lyrics are blunt ideology when I thought of it after the initial appreciation. In our culture it is ungrateful to say "you're not my Father, and Am not your son."
