Double or Nothing was a huge disappointment.For one, James Bond isn't in it at all. A "James Bond book" without James Bond is ridiculous. None of the new OO agents are interesting and none has the charisma of James Bond. I couldn't even finish the book, it was by far the worst Bond book I've ever read, and the ONLY one that I couldn't even finish because of sheer boredom.

She's writing them like Fleming. He finished one, was editing the next one and writing another. He was usually working on 3 books at a time. We're in good hands!

This was a great interview. I am a long time 007 James Bond fan, and I completely missed the release of Double or Nothing. I just ordered a copy of Double or Nothing. I'm looking forward to the Double O series.

Not going into spoilers but the novel isn't all that good. It's basically a current era novel , heavy handed with identity politics and same sexuality. Read if you want.

Put it another way....if this were a film/movie it would typify everything that modern film franchises are criticised for. Its an opportunity to expand the Bond universe which is fine, but based on what I'm hearing & reading about this book its pushing an agenda.

Having read the book, Kim does a fantastic job of meeting the two Fleming directives dictated to her - 1. Bring the Bond universe into the present day. 2. Expand 00 cast of characters. For me, this felt very much like like laying the foundation for the next two books. Now that I know the new agents I'm really looking forward to discovering what they get up to. That said, I really felt James Bonds' presence throughout this book and appreciated the very last line. I want more of that intrigue.

Double Oh Nothing. If you've fired enough .32 rounds from a Walther PPK it will immediately come to your attention it simply cannot be done with a limp wrist.

Some very interesting reviews on Good Reads. I was hearing political undertones in this interview. And a number of reviews on this book seem to indicate those undertones are very much in the lead of this book. From what I am hearing and reading, I'm really on the fence about this one, because it seems very agenda oriented. I think she has picked the next James Bond....who will be...Dylan Mulvaney.

The overall basis of this seems to be very woke. The novel features 009! Tell me 009 doesn't get killed. He's really unlucky... always getting himself killed. 😂

My Bond fandom is hanging by a thread. James Bond died at the end of NTTD and at this point I think it would be best if they just killed the franchise entirely. No more movies or books or anything else. I am not going to sit and watch this franchise raped by woke ideology. I can't stop ION or the Fleming Estate from making a mockery of James Bond, but I don't have to participate in it.

That isn't true. Your Bond fanhood is strong. The fact that what is happening disgusts you shows that. Whatever trash they roll out now can never diminish the great work that has come before. They can change the books that Ian wrote to be less "offensive" or whatever but there are too many copies of the originals out there to even bury the original text for anyone who loves it and appreciates it. Cultural progressives have two agendas: either appropriate anything that was created by and/or features straight white men or 2) destroy those things (or 3) both). I just re-read Ian's books over and over and watch the movies up through Skyfall. It is the ones who accept this with mouths wide open who have abandoned their fandom. I guess if the next film Bond is a black, gender-fluid who wears a mini-skirt with its tuxedo jacket, the "true" fans will just love it, right?

I'll be done watching these videos. Anyone who claims to be a Bond fan and gives a platform to someone intent on destroying Bond and what he stands for for a progressive agenda should be ashamed. It would be hilarious to bring Ian Fleming back and see what he had to say about it. You are aware, David, that the people who have made her the current official Bond chronicler are the same ones who decided to change the Holy Writ of Ian himself, aren't you?
