That's how you do it. Notice when he switches to the ride cymbal it doesn't get all washy like it usually does with a lot of other drummers. Total lesson in how to hit the things.

Yea he's not a punk drummer. He's got the touch. Also that ride just doesn't wash out if you're hitting it with the tip of the stick.
