Listening to Steve Jordan is like a breath of fresh air. The guy can flat out burn on drums. Yet he's not about fast licks, and out playing other cats. He's become one of my heroes in the past 5 years. Keep on groovin bruh!!!

Man, as a musician there’s nothing I admire more than humbleness. Your willingness to allow him his signature snare sound, your willingness to withhold to allow him to show off and your hesitation to drop your own solo was inspiring enough as it was. And then you dropped that awesome solo section. Top it all off with your ability to adapt to changes, and to truly watch and follow what he was doing. Dude, mad props. I admire you.

Man, what a beautiful moment ! Steve Jordan is one of my favorite drummer and maybe the number one in my heart. Since i discovered him with Steve Khan's Eyewitness band (man the track "Guy Lafleur"...). You sound awesome and to see you next to him, looking at him with your eyes full of respect, emotion and joy is really inspiring. I thank you both of you. The end of the video is very emotional for me ! Steve seems to be a really nice person. God bless you both. Amicizia, Christian

Very cool Ben. I've met Steve a few times and he's been nothing but a gentleman and one genuinely cool dude. I've dug his playing since the late 70's when he was playing with Mike Mainieri and John Scofield in the early 80's.....and Letterman of course. I'm happy for you to have had this moment with a great player like Steve. Great groovin' too man!

Dude, that had to have been super-intimidating and super-euphoric at the same time. I’m trying to imagine what it would feel like and I imagine the nervousness of playing WITH Steve Jordan would affect my muscles and not just my mind, which would cause me to be really tight. Maybe after a few minutes of playing and getting over the initial shock, I might could take a couple of deep breaths and then maybe I’d be alright. Killer video!

@@NashvilleDrumCoach The closest thing I’ve ever had to that was playing for and with a marching drumline guru, Scott Johnson at PASIC last year. But’s a whole different vibe from set stuff lol. I know you’ve mentioned being influenced by your time doing drumline. Have you kept up the marching percussion world since then? There’s some pretty hip shit going on.

haha great! You didnt let him down either! Good of you to ask to jam!..i was at an Elvin Jones masterclass once...but didnt dare to ask him anything...still regreting that to this day. I had so many questions about playing in the moment, tuning and where he got the strength to be "the different drummer" while he got critized for it in the beginning. The people who DID ask anything didnt come up with anything else then "what was it like to play with Coltrane" They DID ask though. i didnt. Thanx for the video. Cool groove!
