First of all I want to say I really like the vibe of your channel so i'm definitely going to follow and comment on a fairly regular basis. Before I get into this specific performance I want to say a few words in general about James Brown. IMO he's in the top 3 greatest LIVE artists EVER. The man could wring emotions out of you just by all the hard work and sweat he'd pour out on stage. There are very few people in this world who could perform as well as he did. In many ways he's to live artists what Marvin Gaye is to studio artists. IMO Marvin is in the top 10 masters of recording artists to the point that he felt disappointed by some of his live work on the London Palladium live album so he went back in the studio and cleaned it up a bit. Anyways, James Brown was the master of the funk, the man just knew how to get people to move. He wasn't really known for the slower ballad stuff but every once in a while he'd put out a good one. "It's a man's man's world" is a good example of it but probably not the best example to do live as it's not the most fully conceptualized ballad in terms of lyrics. That said, even here he put some raw emotion into it and the playing by his band was top notch. The ending is definitely a little weird. Looking at the fade out this feels like it was the last tune before intermission in which case that could explain the shout outs at the end.

You should know that musicians never lose James out of sight, because he can stop and accelerate the pace as he pleases and if the group does not follow. Everyone is fined

React to James Brown & Luciano Pavarotti singing It’s a Man’s World together in Italy. It will blow your mind.

matching suits on a concert ? --- The Four Tops did it ... all acts were rockers and they were the only ones with matching suits (Live Aid) ... it was great ...
