hearing this beautiful music and watching james brown and his band perform recharges my soul and elevates my internal vibration. This life is not easy. the world can be cruel, and the birds will cry and sunshine will find its way through the jungle canopy. This music heals. keep on flowing J.B.!! peace love

I used to have this on a budget or bootleg CD and I literally wore it out. Listened to it on mornings I had to open the record store I worked at in the 90s. I just ordered an "official" copy from Amazon.

This is the infamous concert that is in the public domain or else someone owns it who is selling the rights to everyone and their mother because there are over 100 cd versions of this show out there lol. Some have the songs in a different order, some add 'Sex Machine" and "Body Heat" from the 1980 live at studio 54 album and some have "Super Bull, Super Bad" from this concert. However that performance is not on the original edited video of the concert for some reason.

I should have gone to this concert. I was heavy into gospel music at the time. and had stopped listening to Mr. Brown for a time but.... the funk stayed with me. Check out the slow funk music of Betty Mabry Davis to hear something similar.

Jimmie Lee Moore on bass - what a badass!! I first heard this concert when I was 17, just starting out on bass. What he does on the first couple of tracks totally blew my mind, as did the energy and synergy of the whole band. What an eye-opening! Anyone know if Jimmie's still about? He has a website and I tried to contact him through it, but the form doesn't work. Drat!
