Yes, she is one of the Soul Train dancers, Damita Jo. It was previously okayed by JB for her to come on stage. JB wanted her to travel around with them, but if I'm not mistaken, I think her parents wouldn't let her.

Right she was to young at that time but she went on to teach choreography dancing for many stages, bands and stars smh if you don't know who she is.

No she was a main dancer on Soul Train. that was all planned that she was going to run to up there. Usually people went on there and lip-sync to their songs Mr. Brown took his band and did the entire show line for one hour. That was originally filmed in 1972 and he also went back in 1974 with his entire band and did the whole show again live.

If you don't know who Damita Jo Freeman is you don't know dancing she taught you how to dance Soul train is were you came to get the latest dance moves in the 1970s I suggest you go and check her history smh if you don't know her. You can't tell me you don't know Bootsy Collins played bass with James Brown during the early 1970s, including the time when "Super Bad" was performed live on Soul Train. Bootsy, along with his brother Catfish Collins,on guitar was part of James Brown’s backing band, the J.B.'s, during that era. His distinctive funky bass style contributed heavily to Brown's evolving sound. Louisville, KY USA

@@MRSZ5440 this comment is kinda mean spirited lol. If I don’t know something, you should be gracious. Especially since I’m still young. But the funny thing is Bootsy is one of my favorites lol and I knew that he played for James. Like I know Fred Wesley and Maceo Parker did and then they played with P-Funk 🤷🏾♂️

That’s ridiculous for you to say if he doesn’t know who she is you don’t know dancing. Very few people know who she is except people that might’ve watched Soul train back in those days.

You’re pretty condescending like you think somebody in the early 20s is supposed to know all this stuff about Mr. Brown? For your information boots the only played with James Brown for one year and that was 1970. He was not in this video on soul train which was filmed in 1972 it was shown in early 1973. So before you get rude to somebody you should check yourself in real life you don’t know what you’re talking about.

@@PaulDA2000 the funny thing is I always knew who she was but never knew her name until your comments. You really learn something new everyday. The comment don’t bother me tho. Just goes to show you that people need to just teach with love. Because there’s a lot of things that I put people on to. The same way I teach, I learn in the process of it.

@@IJ_RogersTV oh OK I just wanna make sure you’re not confusing me with the condescending person that said you should know who she was? I’m the one that defended you and said everybody doesn’t know who she was if they didn’t even grow up with that. I just wanted to make sure you weren’t getting me confused with that person.

And just so you know he started the song off with the bridge not with the beginning of the song and he would’ve normally played that for a minute or so and then going into the song that was what he was doing at that time with a few different songs but they planned to have her come on the stage from the Soul train dancersand then he just let it go on for a while and then he started the song from the beginning a couple of minutes later.
