Absolutely. It's not just James Cameron but he's one of the few for sure and does it arguably the best out of them all. Most of my favourite movies are full on experiences. Look at Blade Runner 2049. Absolute experience. Dennis Villeneuve- this is another director capable of that.

James Cameron is 68 but he has more energy than most filmmakers in their 30’s. He’s been able to stay relevant with changing times where other well regarded directors just lose the magic touch with age. It’s just amazing!
@DavidOakesMusic

It's because he doesn't half ass ANYTHING. He had the idea for Avatar in 1995. He didnt start it until 2005. Then he waited another 13 years to make sure The Way Of Water was perfect when lesser directors would have crapped four sequels in the same time which are the exact same film again but worse.

@wiiplaya25
@wiiplaya25 Жыл бұрын
A trailer should give you a general sense but not layout the whole plot. Also if a trailer doesn’t “tell you what it’s about”, saying it’s gonna be a “bad movie” is a bit ridiculous. Marketing is separate from the film itself. Plenty of examples to prove this.

Cameron is a goof. Way back in 2016 he claimed that The Abyss would soon be released on blu-ray, and said the transfer looked "insane". Jump to 2019 and his sound designer posted a photo of a recording studio with The Abyss font and the caption "This is happening." Jump to 2022 and still no Abyss on blu-ray or 4K. I repeat, Cameron is a goof.

I find it funny when older directors move to newer technology techniques the old heads say it sucks. I’ll tell you this much. I think most early talkies I’ve seen suck because the silents were over the top and imaginative. Funny how CGI allows for the same freedoms but people used to an established “proper” film technique will say it’s “not good filmmaking”. Technically it’s not good whatever that means. Never seen that claim properly defined online.
