That show was so great. Bob Costas was a gifted interviewer in those years. Loved the Bob Dylan part of this episode. Come on Bob, wear the right hat.

Such interesting insights into a number of personalities. Very good interview as always when Bob Costas sits in that chair, but James Coburn is a colourful man to interview anyway. He is right about The Magnificent Seven and the impact in Europe. A cult film if ever there was one, still to this day. Fun bits about Bob Dylan (come to think of it, he really does seem to like hats a lot). The swaggering, but very impressive Yul Brynner ... thank you, that was fun 😊

I am hoping more of his episodes emerge from the box of tapes I am working from

Coburn had such a rich career, it’s a shame he never wrote a memoir

Great show! Sure would be nice to see something as intelligent as Costas or Cavett on late night tv again. Costas host Ken Kesey for two episodes is one I'll always remember!

I have one of the Keseys posted

I’ve never seen a performance from James Coburn, that I didn’t love
