James is sooooo stupid! Firstly, you never DIRECTLY accuse anyone until you have solid proof of guilt. You imply and ask unpleasant questions to provoke answers - but never directly make accusations. Secondly, if Liam had briebed Sadie to help Grace, how come she hadn't heard anything about it? Presumebly she would have been both pleased and relieved to learn Liam had prevented Harry from creating a false alibi for himself? So how come she knew nothing about it? That is what James should have confronted the Donovans with, and left it to them to work the truth out of Liam.

Liking your thought pattern. I do think that James is not rational at the moment, if he ever was. I just think his thought process is to stop Harry being sent down for Grace's hit and run. I actually think that Grace is now definitely not going to trust Liam. I can see her devising a plan to get to the truth. I think Mercedes will crack before Liam and may well tell.

@@susanjewitt8783 Again I find myself nodding to the sense of everything you are predicting about developments to come. My only remark would be it would be very straight forward and predictable. As I see it, this storyline needs a surprising twist in Harry's favor at this point. After what James did to Ste when he framed him for Amy's death, I don't think Harry would have dared to trust James - now that Harry has dumped him. I even have one or two ideas to how both Harry could be rid of suspicion , and at the same time Ste could be helped out of the clutches of Johnny and Stuart - but without Starry getting back together. Being on my tablet, and not in a position to type touch, it would take too long to go into details here. Besides, you may not be that interested either. So I will only go in details about how such a scenario could be created, if you ask.

@@susanjewitt8783 I have discovered another reply from you, but I am not able to read it in full, for some mysterious reason. If you can find it on your page, please copy and paste it, and post again - and fingers crossed that would work. If it doesn, I`ll upload some sort of clip on my own, leave you a link for it on this post - and then you can copy and paste it to a clip I will control 100% myself. But from what little I was able to read, about you hoping Harry would not go down for the hit and run, and also that Harry and Ste were not good for each other, we seem to be on the same page. It is the part that followed after Harry and Ste not being good for each other that I am unable to click to enlarge, and read in full. So if you could please try to copy, paste and post it here one more time - and if that doesn`t work either, try with the upload I will make and provide you a link for here, that would be great. Cause I am really interested in your thoughts and theories on the subject. With Breda lurking around - and Sadie being heavily pregnant - I am starting to worry, if Breda should hear from Sadie Harry is the father, Breda should find Harry a suitable candidate for her next murder?

Have copied this so hope can read this. do not think Harry should get the blame for the hit and run. I think he also realises that he and James are finished. Yes do not want Harry back with Ste. They are no good for each other. I feel the whole blurting out from James that Liam caused the crash makes it likely that now Grace will get even more suspicious of Liam's motives for helping her. I still think Mercedes will crack up and need to offload to someone. My thought is, who better than Joel. This will give the plot of does the priesthood override justice. Am certainly interested in your ideas in how Harry could be vindicated and Ste helped to see how his views are clouded. I feel the Ste storyline needs to get a resolution. As ever good to hear your views.

Susan Jewitt The idea of Mercedes confiding in Joel, is a good one. And now that Mercedes` drug abuse is out in the open, it would make sense either Cleo or Sylver turned to ex-junkie, Joel, for help and advice in how to deal with Mercedes - and he became her sort of sponsor, or similar. As a result of this again Mercedes building up enough trust in Joel to relieve her heart. Yes, it could definitely work! Especially since Liam and Joel doesn`t exactly see eye to eye, and therefore Liam could both become jealous of Joel, and afraid of Mercedes spilling too much, should he discover those two starting to associate more frequently. Confiding could even go both ways, and Joel revealed some shocking truths from his own drugs past which he hadn`t told anyone about before. Back then being a junkie, he would have to somehow get money for his fixes every day. That would likely either involve crime or prostitution - plenty of options for strong background stories - maybe even his motivation to become a priest? And if Joel should happen to know a lawyer from his past - a lawyer of a far superior caliber than the blanks James and Sami are shooting with (they are both tragically poor. James for not seeing the opportunities to either clear Harry`s name - bus CCTV footage that would prove Harry was on board a bus at a time where his phone placed him far ahead en route to town, proving Harry had told the truth when he claimed to have left his phone inside the car, and therefore that phone did not place him on the scene of the accident, and also that someone else had to have been driving the Alfa when it left Hollyoaks village. Or to reduce the degree of seriousness and intent of Harry`s (had he been the driver of the car) action, when leaving the scene. Since Grace had seen the car long enough to read it`s number plate, must mean the car stopped AND REMAINED STILL FOR A LITTLE WHILE AFTERWARDS, otherwise the car would have been too far gone, before Grace herself had been in a position to see anything. Giving James an opportunity to claim Harry stopped, but since all he could see was plastic road blocks having been pushed over, he assumed there was no harm done - plastic road blocks gets heavier handling during normal transport on a truck, than what one confrontation with a car gives them - so Harry left, thinking the damage to his car was the only damage their was. He had neither realized, nor could see, any signs there had been a person present. And why should have thought there to be one when, as far as he knew, he accidentally only had ran into plastic road blocks? Had that been James` argument, it would have provided plenty of reasonable doubt. Not unlikely enough to both reduce the charges, and drop any plans of a criminal trial against Harry. The fact the car steered off and into the road blocks, could be explained with the sudden presence of an animal in the road. Sami, in his assessment of the case underestimated the significance of both Harry`s phone, Grace`s witness observation and damages to the car linking both Harry and his car to the scene of the accident - and not the least that the fact the car was only reported stolen AFTER the hit and run, could suggest it had been reported stolen to protect Harry from being personally linked to the hit and run.), that lawyer James knew from his past could have been Mercedes` salvation - using the same argument, of Mercedes having believed to only have hit road blocks, and when discovering the full truth of the extent of the accident, got so worried what Grace would do, Mercedes just didn`t dare to come forward. But now that the police and the CPS had decided to charge and prosecute Harry - who was completely innocent - she just couldn`t keep silent anymore. Voila! Both Harry, Mercedes and Liam in the clear for the hit and run - Mercedes to be charged with having taken the car without permission. But with the mitigating circumstances of the fact she first became a widow on her wedding day, later had her mother move abroad and recently at the time of the incident so did her stepson and nephew, when he was being collected by his aunt, add to that she is a licensed publican, her husband an ex convict - and therefore could not be the licensee instead of her - and her conviction therefore could temporarily leave the pub closed and it`s employees suspended, meaning a conviction would be a stricter punishment not only to her, but to her entire family and staff, than what it would be to someone else, I doubt the police and CPS would have found it worth while to prosecute. After all she is not a car thief, but a woman and mother who in a state of stress and hopelessness took a car running on empty for a spin, accidentally caused a crash, and got so scared she first didn`t dare own up - but did so when an innocent person risked being charged and prosecuted in her place.
