This is a diss to all those who said they had 'Become Too Westernised' when the song Idol always had many references to Korean culture. So here they added the extra 4 part introduction with continuing the Traditional Korean drums beats, traditional dress, traditional dance, the traditional Lion. Jimin doing the 'Fan Dance' was given an award by the Korean Fan Heritage society for promoting Traditional Korean Fan Dance which is usually only done by woman. The song idol has always been a diss track to their many 'Haters' while also saying we will continue to love ourselves and promoting Self love which is extremely important in Psychology.

Even in Korea it was seen as amazing that bts made such a highly tradition korean inspired song and performance because it was never done before. In korea kpop and traditional korean music is really separated so the fact that they combined the two and made traditional korean music "cool" (not that it isn't of course) was awesome. Even all their clothes aren't completely traditional, they are modernized hanboks made specifically for them and they even wore sneakers with the fits haha. Their choreo has traditional dance moves incorporated as well

this song in a nutshell is a celebration of "self." it's about self-acceptance of the different layers and sides to one's self. "you can't stop me loving myself." 💜

About the clothing and the masks, how James said it reminded of him of Chinese items he saw (actually, the dancing dragon/tiger thingie is another big thing)... While each country has its own cultures, in Asia, it's common for a lot of thing to trace back or still resemble in moderm times, to Chinese culturess. The dancing tigers in the yellow cover, especially, is performed in festivities for Lunar New Year, and in many countries, ie. Vietnam, is still active in performing it. Like in the US, Southern California, during Lunar New Year, not only Chinese towns put on those performances, in Little Saigon, the Vietnamese community also does. Just 1 example of why there are many similarities and variations when looking into traditional Korean and Japanese cultures, ie. instruments, in the IDOL case. (Sigh... I just wanted to share what I am aware of, bc I am fascinated in how cultures influence thru history and geography and political/war effects, etc. Sometimes my understanding might not be 100% correct, which I welcome being corrected, nicely, bc I don't mean disrespect, but there were a couple of times I got attacked for misunderstanding and someone was acting superior and putting me down, like knock me down, but I was fine when another person corrected me calmy and neutrally, which I gladly accept, bc I also researched to clarify my own misunderstanding. Sorry, my point... I like sharing cultural aspects I know of bc I get excited around it myself, and I just hope people don't mistaken any of my misunderstandings as something on purpose of hating on certain ethnic groups or whatever...)

Great first reaction. Felt very honest. James seems so curious that he will be swallowed right up by the rabbit hole. I am actually not a big rap/hip hop fan either, so it is a huge contradiction that Namjoon is actual my bias. At first I didn't go after the rap tracks, but listen to all their pop and ballads tracks ( which I still love the most ), and when I was ready I began to listen to their more dynamic songs and their rap tracks. A lot of them I really love now, or have learned to appriciate and some is still not my cup of tea. But if James is more of a Lana del Rey kind of guy I would go alternative and not show him ON or MIC drop - yet. Perhaps Spring Day will suit him. It is a beautiful melancholic tune, with a interesting and beautiful MV and an important back story. In that MV you get a lot about what BTS is about and that nothing is what it seems on the surface. Otherwise some more live performances like Tiny Desk perhaps?. You could also show him some of V's solo stuff, which is very soulful and Lana del Rey'ish. I personally have a thing for their Japanese songs, and truly fell in love when I heard Crystal Snow ( a very emotional ballad ). Otherwise here are some of my personal favorites: Blue and Grey House of Cards The truth untold Zero o'clock Epiphany Looking forward to seeing James' journey.

For James, I would suggest listening to BTS's earlier songs such as Save Me, Butter Fly, Spring Day, Louder than Bombs, Danger, Mic Drop, Fire, Tears, So What, etc. There are so many songs to try!

BTS as group is based in Hip Hop 2 of the 3 Rappers * RM and Suga aka Agust D) were Rapping and writing lyric's from the age of 13 and were part of the South Korean underground Hip Hop Scene. The third Rapper J-Hope was as Street Dancer since he was 10years old. Each member is a Solo Artist so together they are the ultimate Super Group. Each member is a Song Writer, Composer and Producer and a Full Member of the South Korean Copyright Association which is very hard to achieve 'Full' Membership of. Suga has also bagged a Producer of the Year Award for producing for another artist from another label/company. He's also the only Rapper in the world to gross over 30million dollar's from a solo tour of the USA. He's also just smashed Drakes previous record by selling over 1million Physical copies of his latest album D-Day. Jimin the who did the traditional Fan Dance has been presented with a award by the South Korean Fan Dance Association for his Fan Dance which is a dance normally only danced by women. He's also the only South Korean artist to debut on the USA Billboard Charts at number 1. BTS as a group are the most awarded group in the world. They are grounded in Hip Hop and it's all through their albums they even debuted as a Hip Hop Group.

That is no concert that's an Award Show where they won a number of awards. The concerts though are amazing have been to their second night at Wembley Stadium with over 60,000 fellow fans (ARMY). I've watched their City of Busan Yet To come Concert back in november 2022 live the worldwide live stream. Then watched it all again in feb at the cinema. I've watched J-Hope solo concert where he hold the record for the most ticket ever sold for an act at Lollapalooza via the worldwide live stream. I can tell you they're not what people think they are no mere Boy Band or Kpop Group group.

If you like alternative, JHope More and Arson, of course. But I think you should try their rapline and mix in the vocal line too. So Outro:Tear (the live Wembley version), Ddaeng (with the explanation after) and any of the vocal line after that, probably Truth Untold? You need to experience the Agust D trilogy by Suga of BTS!!!! He came out with 2 mixtapes and an album for the trilogy, with multiple songs from each representative of parts of Suga's life. This Idol performance is a call out to their haters, underground hip-hop rap artists, that called them sellouts and westernized. Listen to the lyrics, as they are key. Yes, they are wearing traditional Joseon era, yet modern, hanboks and dancing to the Joseon era mask play and dance. Jimin does a version of a traditional fan dance, there is a lion dance!

Fact check: ✔'Tiger dance'' is NOT Chinese origen. Tiger dance is a traditional performing art in Asian countries such as Nepal, India, Korea, Thailand and Japan etc where people dressed in tiger costumes dance alone or with others.

Yes story line for an album also story line through groups of albums so many of the album are trilogies. Their disography is varied as they mix music genres. They will be about things not really used in Kpop like societal issue's, political issues, mental health, Psychology ref Carl Jung thoeries they reference great works of art, books, and their own personal stories. This sort of subjects are not normal in Kpop neither is the norm for Kpop Groups to write their own music and have complete creative control unlike BTS who have always had complete Creative control over what they create. They kind of broke the mold of Kpop due to their CEO who saw all the problems within the industry and decided when he started his own Kpop Label that he was going to do things differently. They started at the very bottom almost going bankrupt to the biggest Kpop company and the 7 members all have shares in the company only Kpop artist that has been given shares by their CEO. It now bring more money into the South Korean Economy (taxes) that then rest of all the other Kpop companies put together. The even put in more that Samsung. This all due to BTS global domination.

Hey your hair is black so it would have to be bleached first as black doesn't dye well the colour won't come show. So it wouldn't be a temporary thing short time as you'd either have to wait for it to 'grow out' or re dye it black again but you really don't want to do that on to of having bleached then dyed it red or whatever colour as it'll make your hair go brittle. To many time's bleaching your hair cause's issues. I dye my hair often but I never have to bleach it first as it's not black it's mix of red's and brown's naturally.
