Here's a little short about James Gandolfini. I wanted to talk about just a few film roles that he had outside of his masterful work on The Sopranos.

Same, I'm a Vietnamese, know about Mr. James Gandolfini throught 'The Mexican' movie and I was interesting with his role. Then I just typed the name of James then realized that he was dead two years ago, my face and my emotion just can't explain but I feel sadly immeadiately... Just in 2018, I was know about The Sopranos and really enjoying this tv-show, threw my die hard habbit 'video-games' into a space to digging The Sopranos until the end. To this day, I still miss and love James Gandolfini but I still not know my why for it. Maybe I liked him because James is a New Jersey but his thoughts and class was crushed me. Sorry if my English is terrible to explain my words, because there is a lot of things I wanna share about James Gandolfini.

Ik what you mean. Ik this sounds kind of unrelated but thats how i felt when nipsey hussle died... yk successful people tell young people a pretty common peice of advice and that's "if you wanna be a millionaire but don't know where to start. A good place would be is to find a millionaire you feel you relate to and jog behind him everyday when he goes jogging" if you know what that means then you know. My point is though... that's usually true except when your 19... and you've been "jogging" to the tune of your favorite millionaire for 5 years and then suddenly you watch him get shot 6 times and kicked in the head in the parking lot of his own establishment...almost made me give up tbh watching the man that gave me hope get murdered. I'm sure thats how alot of people feel about mr gandolfini as well..

Gandolfini performance as Tony Soprano is considered by many as revolutionary and influential, some even saying that Gandolfini was the "Marlon Brando of Television", because like Brando, he redefine the concept of the man in conflict and masculinity, giving a sensibility so real and relatable, just like when Brando did A Streetcar Named Desire and Godfather.

One night in the late 90s my rich roommate ordered hbo.. back then hbo was a luxury. The first thing I watched was the first episode on the first night of sopranos. Just by accident. I watched the whole first season telling everyone I knew how amazing the show was. Before the 2nd season started, I moved to Europe for a year.. when I got back season 3 was had just finished but I didn’t have hbo anymore. I was damn near homeless. I join the air force and left sept 11 2001. The next time I caught up to the sopranos, it was huge, it was the end season 6. And I was in Iraq. I watched the whole season while I was there. And then rewatched it the next time I was sent back to Iraq. My favorite show of all time. The show fell into my lap. And Helped me get through Iraq twice.

I dated someone who was friends with him and he told me that he couldn't be more different from Tony Soprano. And that he was one of the kindest & most authentic people he knew. He was friends with a lot of celebrities but I never heard him speak about any of them the way he did Mr. Gandolfini. I cried watching this btw. Thank you for making it & may the late great Mr. Gandolfini R.I.P.

I agree ☝️ but how he did that roll was so authentic and natural. And he is Italian and he is from New Jersey lol I think he would of been a gangster in the 1970s l😮

Did the same thing during lockdown although mine was a re-watch after about a decade. Still one of the best TV shows ever. The magic was always between Jim and Edie though. Their chemistry was spellbindingly good especially the scene where she wants him to leave and he won't

Watch it again next year. This is the kind of show where subtle hints and Easter eggs are dropped, and you just can't find them on the first viewing. I watched Breaking Bad multiple times as well, and it feels like every time I see it, I notice a new thing. Even with anime, Attack on Titan. There's so many things to discover during a second third or even fourth viewing.

It’s never too late to fall in love. The sopranos is one of the greatest shows of all time. Not just IMO but fact. Also it’s great that as a new watcher you found yourself drawn to the Kevin Finerty storyline. Most fans at the time (not me) hated it. Thought it was “jumping the shark”. It’s my favorite of all the storylines. I love seeing him get a chance to show his audience that he was more than a tv gangster. Also how are we not talking about him working with Brad Pitt at least 3 times? I bet those were some fun sets to be on. James and Brad have tremendous senses of humor (from what I’ve seen in interviews).
