Used to watch this all the time on VHS. Still have it! Was a huge Addams Family fan as a kid.

The even more baffling thing about the black and white lady is the implication that she's seeing in 3D for the first time. The makers of the show seem to have confused going back in time with travelling into an old movie or something.

If Michael Richards played a guy named Richard, Jeff Daniels should have played a guy named Daniel. It's all coming together, baby!

Thanks for the reference to "Unstrung Heroes" I loved that film when I was younger. Also spootted a My Cousin Vinney link with the actor Austin Pendleton, who played the public defender.

I've never seen this movie but these clips look like deleted scenes from the Seinfeld episodes where Kramer went to LA to be an actor. All I see is Kramer, it's all of the same mannerisms.

Jeff Daniels is a bit of an unsung hero in Hollywood really. He's been in some classic films and done varying roles from sheer idiotic slapstick in Dumb and Dumber to Keanu's SWAT squad pal in Speed and yet I don't hear him getting much recognition as one of those stalwart actors who helped hold up alot of good films as a support. And this is probably another. Richards was at the height of his Seinfeld fame it was essentially a star vehicle for him but Daniels was there again supporting the bigger name.

This was one of my favorite films growing up. I would watch Dennis the Menace whenever it would air on Family Channel Canada or Teletoon, and I would enjoy the comedy on display! From the pratfalls to the scary villain, the Dennis the Menace movie from 1993 managed to charm me! Plus, it introduced me to Walter Matthau and Christopher Lloyd! What's not to love!

Fun fact: In Poland the movie was titled "Dumb, Dumber, Dumbest". It was done to trick people into thinking it's related to the Dumb and Dumber franchise, since Three Stooges are completely unknown here.

This man was a directing powerhouse. His talents and contribution to and impact on cinema won't be forgotten. RIP, Mr Hughes (1950-2009). Thank you for your cinematic kindness.

this is the first movie i ever remember going to the theater for when i was really young but i hadn't really seen it since then. now i've rewatched it because of the 30th anniversary and it's really great. faithful to the already amazing source material. can't believe people just kinda wrote this movie off for decades. critics like Siskel & Ebert shat on it, only has a 23% on Rotten Tomatoes. just goes to show you that critics aren't the end-all be-all of what's good. YABBA-DABBA-DOOOO biatch

I thought the movie was great when I was like 13 and in Middle School. Looking at it in retrospect they tried way too hard to be funny and it's just a dumb movie.

I watched the movie for the first time a few months back and i was surpised how good it was. The acting is great, the set design is still amazing after all these years, the jokes are funny, the story is very solid and doesnt treat the audience like idiots, and it adapts the spirit of the flintstones on the big screen successfully. Sure it wasnt going to win for best picture, but it wasnt trying to be that any way. I have no idea why it got the reputation for being a bad movie. Also, what critic said it had a convoluted plot and a lack of character development? The plot is very straight forward and the film is nothing but character development.

The best sequel was “The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters” that was made for public television. It has James Broderick and a young Matt Dillon as Ralph.

This was always one of those random movies that played in Comedy Central. A movie I’d never heard of yet was played often. My guess is the rights were nothing and it was cheap to air

You made a point about Mel Brooks using modern pieces of culture and mixing it with historical context, but then claimed that when Year One did that it’s trampling, when it isn’t? It’s doing exactly what a Mel Brooks film would have done if Mel made Year One. Christopher Mintz-Plasse is literally mimicking the mixture of modern and historical context with his character. Ramis made a good comedy movie, this video review sounds like someone who read too many Letterboxd reviews. It’s a spoof comedy, not the Criterion Collection.
