@@jontoven2467 honestly partly because it was a comedic German role, which, coming off of Jojo Rabbit, would have been the perfect role to write for Taika, plus as a character Javelin carried himself and acted A LOT like most of Taikas performances tend too, including the dialogue he was given. Out of everyone on the team, if you had to pinpoint one character who seems to fit Taikas M.O., it would be him.

Later the X-Men movies were frustrating for me...but largely they were better than they had the right to be--as the production for the movies had unexplained and infrequent quality control issues...and inconsistent casting...and/or featured characters. Further, they never gave us an X-Men that look like the actual X-Men--not really??? Prior...I saw "Blade", which showed great promise. Meanwhile, before and during this time...as well as after...Warner Brothers save for the original "Superman" film...kept producing bad superhero films--thus undermining DC's advantage in the marketplace over Marvel. That said, to this day...the best overall superhero film (based upon a comic book)...is neither a Marvel or DC film. What is that movie? "The Rocketeer". The 2nd best superhero film...is not based upon a comic book...nor is it recognized as a superhero film. It's called "Untamed Heart". As per Marvel and Warner Brothers/DC's competition for film franchise supremacy...Marvel had a good run of it (of its officially produced films)...with the occasional good film amid multiple throwaway or barely passible films. "Infinity War" and "Endgame"...were sloppy films...and prior..."The Avengers: Age of Ultron" was the beginning of subpar Marvel movies. The Avengers 2...should have featured the Avengers versus the Cabal. To this date, "Captain America: Winter Soldier" and Captain America: The First Avenger" are the best 2 Marvel films. The only hole for Winter Soldier, is that they should have brought back Red Skull as the main villain. "The Avengers" is still Marvel's best superhero team film. Back to DC, their 2 best films after Superman are "V for Vendetta" and "The Watchmen".

Third week in theaters and you haven't made the $185 million back yet. Hbomax has the movie free to watch, so that does not bring more money in for the film. Maybe people have brought HBOmax just to see the film, but all information that is available says that Mortal Kombat and Godzilla vs Kong did better streaming numbers on the platform. Thus for, this movie is a failure for WarnerBrothers much like Birds of Prey.
