In my opinion, Snyder's DCEU had a lot of merit, and maybe wasn't "the" quintessential way DC should be presented, but it had value for what it was. MoS was a good solid movie and so was BvS. What they desperately needed was a good editor to cut back on the slow parts and clean up a few week spots such as the Martha thing. The Wonder Woman segments of BvS were extremely well done. The first WW movie and the first Aquaman movie were quite good, but I don't know how much of a role he played in those. His Justice League was pretty bad, and not just because of Whedon, and the end of his version of JL portended a really bad future for his DCEU, had it continued. The Flash was mediocre. A lot of fundamental decisions related to JL were not good ideas at all. Even so, he was creative, original, threw himself into it, and came up with a product that was unlike what we'd seen before. Part of the problem was his personal life problems that I'm sure degraded the quality of his work. Whether Gunn will be better or worse remains to be seen, but there's a strong possibility it'll be worse. Gunn seems to be going for the "Saturday Morning Cartoons" and I don't think that's wise.

While what you talking about is ridiculous, as someone has said James Gunn seems to be mining the same themes as Zack Snyder's Man of steel just with the more hopeful slant. Which is fine there's nothing new under the sun and it has been 11 years since Man of steel. But to see some of the same themes pop up in the trailer is a bit jarring because I thought it would be a new take that was based on the comic Superman for all seasons. Also by mining the same themes, all he is doing is fueling the Henry Cavill stans who will say that if he was just going to rewrite Man of steel he could have kept Henry Cavill.

Nothing in that trailer was coping BVS and MOS, the comics have a bunch of those same scenes, where Zack got it from The scene with the people mad at him isn't even the same as BVS. The MYTHOLOGY himself does have the experience of putting together one of the most connected & successful live-action DC team-ups in WB movie history to date - The Justice League.
