I liked the Superman trailer, but didn't really get hope from it. there wasn't even any dialogue except for "Home, take me home" It's not like he was smiling and laughing in the teaser. I became convinced that Gunn would crush it with Superman after having watched Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and then rewatching The Suicide Squad and even I'm surprised.....blown away at how deeply sincere and epic this teaser trailer is! And it is glorious! James Gunn goes from writing a DCU show that's dark, violent, crazy, goofy and deranged and heartbreaking to apparently giving us a grand epic, bright, more hopeful and showing all that sets Superman apart from something like Creature Commandos or The Suicide Squad. If this Superman is humorous in parts I more than gladly welcome it but for now I'm excited and touched by how emotional this first trailer is!

As much as I enjoy most of Gunns past and present work(Guardians 1/2/3,The Suicide Squad,Peace Maker, Creature Commandos,13 Ghosts,Slither) I do love Snyder’s work more(Dawn of the Dead,300 1&2,Watchmen,Man of Steel,BVS,Rebel Moon 1&2 DC,Legends of the Guardians 3D,Sucker Punch,Army of the Dead,and my favorite superhero film Zack Snyder‘s League League! The Batman suit wasn’t exactly the same as the mainline version but it gets the job done nicely. I understand and honestly respect the desire to wait for the film to come out first before dubbed it “comic accurate” but everything showcased so far demonstrates care and respect for both the character’s vast history in comics and film as well as the general vibe associated with the character. I’d say it’s leaning towards the right direction.

I have this feeling that this movieverse is going to be mid and information will leak out that WB executives (higher than Gunn) gave notes and requirements to Gunn that hurt his own universe project. I just can’t trust WB for anything, and I’m honestly confused to see everyone having high hopes. Keep your expectations low, WB has proven to us too many times that they get in their own way (well, technically WB get in the way of their own directors and writers). Just remember that Gunn has people over him that have authority. Honestly, braindead Snyder bros. aside, in my opinion back in 2013 the culture of watching movie trailers on KZbin had not quite developed to the point that it has now. I think you can’t really compare the figures back then to now as a means to gauge interest. A lot of people hadn’t developed the habit until a few years later. Edit: the original Avatar trailer has 13 million views currently. The original Man of Steel trailer seems to have 15 million views now. I can’t think of a way to check if it’s been manipulated somehow.

I agree with you James Gunn is talented but Suicide Squad wasnt very good and made no money mostly because of Walter Hamada and the other WB executives ruining DC before it came out, Geoff John's Toby Emerick or whatever his name is. Pandemic or not made no money at the box office they didn't release the ppv numbers, Saying this as a huge Snyder Joss Whedon is a talented writer and director as well aside from Whedon cut of JL. Avengers 1/2 Agents of shield was really good. Buffy/Angel as well plus firefly/Serenity. Love all that stuff i think Whedon is a more talented writer/Director than Gunn. However they shouldn't have interfered with Zacks story because he could've finished his Justice League story in just 2 more films and rebooting was part of the story they could've brought Gunn in after and they wouldn't have had so many flops . Ben Afflecks Batman would be part of finishing The story but thats only 3 movie's. Could've cancelled and rebooted after that and in less time. I never thought I would say this, but here we are: watching Gunn's Superman movie trailer has given me newfound appreciation for Man of Steel, a movie I despise. That's how bad Gunn's Superman trailer is. 😒🥱
