You can hear from 1991 onwards and especially from 1992 onwards that he is using less and less vocal fry. It's almost as if he has been trained in singing techniques and now he's not just powering it out but singing it out and saving his voice.
@the_releaser3 жыл бұрын
@LTV. niks Yes I know that. That's why I said ironically "it's almost as if he has been trained in singing techniques"

His voice during the last two albums has definitely gotten that old bark back. His performance on spit out the bone is as aggressive as anything from the 80's
@XXLRebel2 жыл бұрын
His pronunciation has also gotten a lot better. "No one but miiiiii" sounds a lot less manly and cool than "No one but mehhhh". Come to think of it that would make his singing a lot better in the early days. Good thing he started taking vocal lessons😅
@XXLRebel2 жыл бұрын
Could also have something to do with clenching his jaw and not allowing his voive to fully open up. I used to have that same problem and a vocal coach told me to practice like you're at a football match and you're shouting at someone across the other side. Kinda like a toned down version of what James does when he riles up the crowd by making them repest "HEEEYYY"

For anybody who doesn't know... James blew his voice around 1991 and started to abandon the heavy distortion a bit, then in 1994 he blew his voice again and then really dialed it back. I believe James could have kept his 1991 voice for a bit longer, but doing so would have done some long term damage, and he'd be sounding much worse today.

For whom the bell tolls is the best evolution since 1984 because they play it in every gig in every year.
@m.c.ruckus20323 жыл бұрын
Dennis Barlaan, I 'm sure that's why Fade was chosen for this vid too. There hasn't been a show where the fans didn't get this (& quite a few other songs too). The band wouldn't roll into a town to a gig & leave the fans without C. Death, Master, Seek, One, Battery, 4 Horse, Sanitarium, Am I E? & a lot more are def.gonna be played at some point in their set on every Show. If not, that would be like Slayer coming to your town & not play Angel Of Death, Hell Awaits or Raining Blood, etc. Most bands have at least a couple/few signature songs that you know they are guaranteed to play every gig & Metallica has quite a list of tracks they cannot leave out...& haven't. I agree that Bells is without a doubt, one of those songs. It's a "Cliff connect" for everyone.

This should be called the devolution of Lars Ulrich. And I love Metallica always have by the way. Laura's, luckily has a sense of humor. And obviously so does the entire band. The fact that they're all still together, speaks of family values, loyalty, tradition, and you find that in the band in the fan base in the music. Oh yeah Lars Ulrich keeps getting worse and worse, James hetfield his vocals are basically consistent.
