The music was one of the most powerful aspects of the movie, and so much kudos to a great composer who died so tragically. RIP James Horner.

I think about it often how we lost such an amazing composer so young. Even seven years later I'm brought to tears listening to his music. He was the best.

your quite right on Zimmer. Its something he speaks about in interviews how every score is a new project and how he finds it daunting to come up with something new each time. The problem I think is people don't realise that similarities are a result of it being the same composer with the same musical tastes. Not laziness. look at beethoven Mozart etc. we can often recognise the music of these composers because they write in their own style. Nothing has changed in this respect

It's sad to read the comments on this video from when he was alive, and knowing he isn't here anymore. James Horner was a true legend, and my biggest inspiration as an aspiring film composer. It's a shame I can never meet him.

Can understand you ... its my dream too. The same it is with John Williams. But ... relating to the video ... The Music of A Beautiful Mind seems to me like it is not from this world. For me one of the most beautiful, maybe perfect themes he has ever written. It really really describes the fascination of mathematics. Really great job!

his themes and motifs are somewhat similar in many of his scores, but all of his scores are effective and without question, serve the film, which is the main job of a film score composer. That's why horner is one of the most well-known and respected composers working in film today. His scores serve the story, enhance the emotions invoked in the film, and in the case of many of the films he has scored, improve the film as a whole.

@HerrHIVEMIND17 жыл бұрын
His music sounds kind of the same between movies but if you notice... His style evolves over time. Between star trek 2 and Aliens its shifting but only slightly. Compare those two to Apollo 13 and its changed alot more.. Compare them with A Beautiful Mind and you'll see he's evolved his style. I cant wait to see what he makes next, really.

Maybe I haven't heard enough Hans Zimmer, but of all of it I have heard, it is far from self recycling. I'll agree that James Horner does this but Zimmer, i find, is the only movie score composer that has a huge variety of sounds (Black Hawk Down compared to Pirates)...other than that, totally agree with your post.

That's the way he talks. It's not an English accent. It's Austrian, because both of his parents were born and raised in Austria and just being around them gave him that accent.

I agree with you on Hans Zimmer, but if you listen to brilliant soundtracks like the "Prince of Egypt", "Pirates of the Carribean", and "Lion King" you might feel as disappointed as I did when I listened to the Dark Knight. Maybe, Maybe not, but I certainly feel like Hans could of done more with the Motif.
