James Ingram had a distinct voice. If you never saw him in concert you missed a great show. He sounded just as great in a live performance.

James Ingram / Quincy Jones / = Music , the real music 🎼🎵🎶 . Thanks dear Angela to share this song and to share your feelings with music of High Quality ! ( from France , Europe ) ✋💖💎

Ironically, the James Ingram album this was originally on, also had a hit duet with the amazing Pattie Austin called, How Do You Keep the Music Playing, written by incredible French composer, Michel LeGrand. It was for a movie that was kind of a bomb called, The Best of Friends, & starred Burt Reynolds & Goldie Hawn. You may remember James from his solo spot in We Are the World, & in the Quincy Jones produced collaboration, Secret Garden, which also featured Al B. Shure, El DeBarge, & the late Barry White. Very insightful reaction. 👍🏾

This is a beautiful, beautiful song written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil... it wasn't a hit at all ( I don't think it was ever released as a single) but it still is a beautiful song....

Another "Thank You", Angela 🌹 Connect the dots to James' contribution to "We Are The World". He was a brilliant, consummate artist, very honest, very unpretentious, never over-produced. R.I.P . J. Ingram, another wonderful soul gone. 🕊️🙏

This after just once, cause he talks about how the best sometimes doesn't work in this song then I dont have a heart. What a horrible but beautiful sounding series of a relationship breaking down and breaking up.

So many KZbin reactors saw the video for We Are The World and didn’t know who James Ingram was, such a shame, he was one of the greatest singers in music, and sang on some of the greatest legendary love songs and duets for three decades. He was a legend yet still so underrated, and we lost him in 2017, but we will have his great music for a lifetime.

#Dayonereacts ... I love these songs that are on the Album but Never get paid at the Club or on the Radio; but because bought the Album one night you are just relaxing having a cold drink and you might be going through something with someone: Then a song you never knew existed, hit you right where you need so you can find comfort or just have a good cry.... Great Song, Ladies and Gentlemen James Ingram!

Angela, you are so real with these sad rejection songs. You and I have both lived it. He sang it with his fantastic voice. However, we don’t like to be reminded. You handled the emotions and expressed them so well. Thank you, M’Lady.

You should have a satellite radio program. I look at music different from you. The music to me is more important than the words to it. That is why instrumentals are hits. But, words without music to me, is worthless. Unless it is a poem only. There is only a hand full of songs that really get to me. But, you do have a gift. Keep it up Angela.

I think this was the first song that ever broke my heart just listening to back in the eighties and then I lived it in my late 40's. It's a cruel day when you realize, looking in the mirror, that you're the toxic one in a relationship. And even after putting in the work you come to the realization that you're never going to be what and who the other person needs and you throw yourself on that sword to save the person you genuinely love... From you (and I don't mean physical abuse. I mean knowing your spirit will wreck then too) We're still very close as friends. However I know I'm garbage in a relationship. I'm not a cheater but I do self destruct. So I know I'll walk through this life alone but not really lonely. And I'm okay with that.

@@tedcole9936 thanks for your kind words. I'm truly content though, with my decision to no longer pursue romantic relationships. I get to spend more time with my family and friends this way too. I go on vacation by myself, which is the best thing ever..
