@staminapromos4 жыл бұрын
Two things: 1 the bars need to be rotated forwards so that the bar sweeps upwards and backwards, not down. 2 the front brake disc is on backwards. Also you can get easily adjust the brakes by pulling them fully on at the lever, then slackening the bolt on the caliper just enough so you can pull through enough cable that the lever is in perfect position for your hands. You then only use the barrel adjusted to take up also in the cable and wear in the pads.
@TheHeadAngle4 жыл бұрын
Little tip James and for anyone who’s reading, if you fit the seat post and saddle first, you can then use the seat post to clamp in the bike stand and then not risk damaging the paint work on the frame and also not pinch or obstruct and of the cables to the derailleur.
@civicboomer21354 жыл бұрын
On mechanical disc brakes the actuator arm should be set all the way out with the barrel nut in the middle. Usually the stack is adjusted with the pads. You tighten the pads down or just touching with the arm all the way out and no slack then adjust the pads. Fine tune with the barrel nut. If you just use the barrel nut eventually you run up on the stop. When you squeeze the brake it hits the stop and no brakes!

Hi James, nice video, but YOU HAVE MOUNTED THE FRONT BRAKE-DISC WRONG WAY ROUND!! That's a SAFETY ISSUE, on hard braking the brake disc can break and fail and totally block the front wheel. The way you mounted it, the wheel would be supposed to rotate backwards. You can see the correct orientation and mounting on the rear wheel. The correct orientation has got something to do with braking forces and the forces from the wheel (Newton's law: actio=reactio).
