@jamesguitar73845 жыл бұрын
my dad was wondering the same thing but it definitely sounds like a twelve string. maybe its just the thin treble strings that are doubled up. Lonnie Johnson had a guitar like that single bass strings doubled treble. either way he makes it sound fantastic.

It’s definitely strung for 12, but the video isn’t fine enough to catch the octave strings, except for a couple times the camera zooms in on McMurtry’s hands.

This kind of music takes me back in the day back before electronics, when after hard honest work & home cooked supper, a family would sit out on the front porch, where it was cooler, sun setting, fire flies a dancin' and they'd make their own entertainment with a guitar, harmonica, stompin the floor, maybe shakin a Mason jar with dried beans or even spoons. No electricity needed. Luckily, some families still do and I've been fortunate enough to join in. It is something special to share. Try it.

He's got an uncommon voice, both literally and figuratively. That's why I like it. What a songwriter.

Great instrumentalist, lyrics & hey, I love the song!! Eat your heart out Chet Atkins, even though I believe he would love the acoustic guitar work. Great Job!!
