I wish James Mercer would release an acoustic album. He's brilliant.

Just dropping a comment to signify that the Shins and Broken Bells are still wonderful and significant to me. Mercer is a gift to us all.

Probably my fav Shins song, I remember just replaying this constantly while taking my long walks in the sun here in Australia. It seemed written for the occasion. The songwriter in me listens to this and feels that bittersweet joy and inadequacy that listening to a truly exceptional song brings.

So good...amazingly good, I could listen to this over and over... (I actually have). Brilliant songwriting, and that guitar sounds so clean... :)

Learning this song on my guitar changed my life, I think...or at least started me off on a different course after my ex-girlfriend left. I get to see the Shins in 8 days!

I think my views make up roughly 1/5 of the views so far on this video. Too fantastic. Sidenote: This is most certainly my most favorite song to sing in the shower.

How does he make it sound like there’s 2 guitars? I’m new to playing the guitar. Is he just picking the top string then playing the rest right after?
@RobertFBrophy4 жыл бұрын
Exactly that, with a little more fluff to make it sound beautiful. Just practice your picking mate, you'll get there. Your picking hand is where all the rhythm is made, i believe in you.

@@ian_s9382 not sure about the pinkie but that’s definitely an E, he’s just playing it higher on the neck
