James Nnaji (born August 14, 2004) is a Nigerian professional basketball player for FC Barcelona of the Spanish Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. Nnaji grew up in Makurdi, Nigeria and got his start playing basketball there. In 2018, Nnaji moved to Ratgeber Basketball Academy in Hungary. Nnaji started his career with Pecsi VSK, a team in the Hungarian league. He would move from Hungary to Barcelona in 2020, joining FC Barcelona B in 2020. From there, he would move up to the A team of FC Barcelona in 2021, making thirteen appearances in the 2021-22 season. Nnaji would declare for the 2023 NBA draft, where he was ranked as the 24th highest prospect in the ESPN Top 100.

I'm a Barcelona fan so i followed him all the season. He had some solid games vs professional players, even vs Euroleague teams ( best league after NBA), but also some games which made mistakes in pick and roll defense and the coach benched him inmediately. He has a lot potential and it's not only a shot blocker, also can guard small players with nice lateral quickness for his height. In offense he's just limited to catch lobs basically, working on his shoot but almost never uses it. In defense he can develop into a monster, he's 7'5 wingspan for a 6'10 ft height.

I am FC Barcelona supporter, I've watched all games of Nanji this year, he has great potential but he is not yet ready. He is not yet important in the FC Barcelona rotation, It is difficult for him to pivot and play under the basket, he has to improve his hands and his handling of the ball, he does not have a midrange shot. Great potential, but it is too soon for him to go to the NBA...just my opinion
